Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Professional ensemble The belt pairs perfectly with dress shoes for a professional ensemble. August 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great match with AE McAllister wingtips! I bought this belt specifically to pair with my AE McAllister burnished merlot wingtips. It is a beautiful, well-crafted belt! It is a bit wider than previous dress belts I have worn, but not so wide that it look out of place. I generally wear my McAllisters and this belt with my Navy suits, and the rich leather and pattern match nicely. The belt's patterned style provides a more refined look. August 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Distinctive Belt That Works for Both Casual & Dress I bought this belt, because I needed a dark chili colored belt to match my pair of dark chili Franciscan monk straps and dark chili Universities wingtips. I like the belt design, and it goes well with jeans or slacks. The belt width is in that middle ground between narrow dress belt and wide casual belt, so it allows it to work for both dress and casual. I would say the color is about a shade or two lighter than my Franciscans and about three or four shades lighter than my Universities. The belt seems to work with the Franciscans, but I think it's going to be too much of a color difference to work with my Universities. I also need to point out that I believe the buckle is coated. Which means that the coating can chip or scratch. This is an issue I have seen on other Allen Edmonds belts. July 15, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Versatile belt with quality issues I own several AE belts, and in my experience, they are hit or miss in terms of the quality. When the quality is there, they are great belts for the money. When it's not, it's a disappointing product that is too expensive for the value it provides. I bought this style online in walnut, hoping it would be a great way to differentiate from the manistee line but maintain the same versatility and quality (I also own a manistee belt and it is much higher quality). The Dupont Ave is a very versatile belt due to the style and width. You can dress it up or down and it will work equally well with a pair of jeans as it will nicer dress slacks, which is perfect for my needs. The main problem I have with this belt is that the quality is lacking for what I would expect at this price point. After only a few wears, the back of the belt is creasing and cracking as though it is made from inferior, bonded leather. I've purchased some leather conditioner and will attempt to use it on the back of the belt to see if it helps keep it from degrading further. The buckle also looks old and worn. It does not have the shiny/polished look of my manistee belt. AE belts don't have great buckles in general as they are almost all made from brass with some kind of finish on it, which won't stand up as well as solid steel or nickel, but I did expect it to be in better starting condition. Bottom line, these quality defects seems as though this is an old belt that has been sitting in a warehouse for quite some time. At this price point, I expect better. My recommendation is to skip this one and stick with the manistee, which is a time-tested AE product that ships with some regularity (so I would think it's less likely to have aged poorly while waiting for a buyer). I'm looking for something similar in style that would match a Jefferson in Merlot color.

Answer:
I bought the oxblood specifically to pair with my AE McAllister burnished merlots. The shades are not "exact", but they are real close. Keep in mind the burnished merlot is slightly darker than the standard merlot.

Answer:
Merlot is slightly darker than Oxblood. Our first choice for the Merlot Jefferson is the Manistee belt in Merlot. The Oxblood Dupont Ave will be slightly brighter in comparison similar to a deep cherry color, but if you prefer this style it will coordinate nicely too.

Answer:
At this time, there are no plans to offer the Dupont Ave belt in other sizes than what's currently available online. These sizes are limited to 32 (30 pant size) to 44 (42 pant size).

We suggest checking out the Manistee belt, which is very similar in style and offered in size 30 (28 pant size).

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

Tan Saddle leathers and Walnut leathers generally complement each other nicely. We recommend pairing the Dupont Ave Dress Belt in Tan Saddle with our shoe styles in Walnut.
