Overview
In Northern Michigan, the Manistee River runs clean and clear through wilderness areas bordered with pine forests. Inspired by the purity of this river, we created this immaculate vegetable tanned leather belt with a refined silver-tone buckle and single keeper. Edged on each side with perfing detail, this belt is a splendid counterpart to several of our classic brogues such as the Strand, the McAllister, the MacNeil and many more.

The "dark chili" version of this belt just arrived. However, it looks exactly like the "brown" color. I'm wondering if it was simply a mistake or the coloring is just way off. Regardless, I'm disappointed these don't match my dark chili fifth avenues. I bought this belt simply to match them. I will probably return these -- odd that the belt is so expensive only to not actually turn out.

This is the second belt I purchased from AE. I sent the first Walnut back for a lighter shade because it was not even close to my Strands & the Bourbon I just received looks brown. I love AE & am so disappointed to see such a great company going down the path of so many others. Please stop & get back to basics.

Bought this belt in Bourbon to match my Mora Monstraps and the color difference is akin to looking at oak vs. dark cherry flooring - it's that far off....I already own plenty of brown belts that don't match these shoes, and I don't need to add another, especially at this price....Is anybody in Quality even looking at a color standard....?

The Manistee belt is a great choice for dress styles with brogue details like the Fifth Avenue. Keep in mind that belts are not manufactured in the same plant as our shoes. As a result, colors can vary as the nature of the hand-crafting process results in a unique and special product each time. I'm also curious about other belts in Oxblood. The Sheridan Oxblood seems to be much darker than the shoes, and it doesn't match the Strand as beautifully as the Manistee does.

However we do have plans to introduce a new belt called the Dupont Ave, which is similar to the Manistee, in several colors including Oxblood for our Spring Collection.
