Bad experience
I own several pairs of AE shoes. Started buying AE some 18 years ago while working on Capitol Hill in Washington. I have been a huge fan until today. I picked out a golf shoe on your Shoe Bank site, called the store in New York to purchase and have the shoe shipped and was told first that the shoe had not been in inventory for several months and furthermore the shoe was of poor quality. I was really surprised by what the clerk in the store told me and disappointed that AE would state the shoe was available and perhaps more disappointed that it would sell a shoe of such poor quality. My size is 10 EEE , the shoe was Desert Mountain Brown.

American Independent
Nathan W. Vaughn, in picture, is celebrating American independence in Boalsburg, PA. Today, Sunday, the 12th of July, Nathan spent the afternoon working at Harper's Shop for Men. He wore a vintage Cricketer sport coat, Gitman Brothers vintage sport shirt with a button down collar and a beautiful pair of Allen Edmonds in walnut. Details should include a matching walnut Allen Edmonds leather belt, an ice cold can of Yuengling and Carrot the Cockapoo.

Like a virus...the nice kind
Over 30 years ago, I took a job as a regional salesman for a large firm. I had the privilege of working with one of the executives one day, and he took me to Stout Shoes in Indianapolis, suggesting I buy a pair of Allen Edmonds. He explained how the right shoe is critical to success and would send a message to everyone I interacted with. Bowing to the pressure, fearing the response from my wife, I coughed up the several hundred dollars and bought a pair of Mcallisters. I still have those shoes, recrafted, and another 50 plus pair of Allen Edmonds. Amortize $300 over 30 years and the cost was really low. My son wore AE's to his first interviews and received offers at every company. I have planted AE's with almost every nephew, and many of my co-workers. I just sent a pair of Walnut Strand's to a young salesman who is an up and comer. AE's are a part of me, and my shoes have helped define a really nice career. Do yourself a favor....catch this virus and spread it.

First pair of AE shoes
I've been wearing dress shoes off and on since I was 17. The first were the issued leather "low quarters" (which weren't actually 1/2 bad) for my uniform which were eventually replaced with those horrid glossy plastic ones. I've tried several sets of department store options and have never had a pair last much over a year. I finally decided to get "real" shoes and bought a pair of McAllister shoes. I'm kinda wishing I'd have made this decision 15 years ago.

The last gift.
It wasn't until my older brother lost a courageous battle with brain cancer that I learned of his love of Allen Edmonds shoes. We share large narrow feet and a lifetime of searching for shoes that fit. In a final act of kindness he left me nine pairs of the best fitting most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. In more ways than one he left big shoes to fill but I'm sure he's smiling as he watches every step I take. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of him and smile right back.
