Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

Due to the rare color of our Walnut Cordovan, we recommend using our Carnauba Wax and Premium Shoe Polish rather than our Cordovan Care Cream, which will alter the leather’s coloring.

To remove any residue in areas where the shoe flexes, and to maintain the leather’s quality, simply brush cordovan footwear with a horsehair shine brush or wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For the Walnut Cordovan Strand, use Allen Edmonds Carnauba Wax which imparts a rich glow to fine leather. Follow by applying a layer of our Premium Shoe Polish in Neutral.

Whether or not the Shoe Cream can be removed depends on how much build up there is on the leather. To remove any residue, we suggest brushing cordovan footwear with a horsehair shine brush or wiping with a soft, dry to lightly damp cloth. Allow to completely airy dry, and then follow by applying our Allen Edmonds Cordovan Care Cream to help maintain a rich color.

Choosing which Allen Edmonds Heel and Sole Edge Dressing to use depends upon the color of the welt and heel base of your shoe, and not the actual color of the upper, although the welt and upper often match. We offer four colors – Brown, Black, Neutral, and Chili – in our heel and sole edge dressing.

Our Neutral (also referred to as Natural) is recommended for shoes with a lighter welt, like that of the Amok shoe style and most Walnut colored shoes. Chili Heel and Sole Edge Dressing is recommended for those welts with a darker coloring, similar to our Randolph style in Chili. Most styles in Chili leather also use Chili Heel and Sole Edge Dressing. Black Heel and Sole Edge Dressing is recommended for shoes with a completely black welt; for example, the Park Avenue in Black or Merlot Calfskin. Most Black and Merlot/Burgundy styles use Black Heel and Sole Edge Dressing. Most Brown and Dark Brown shoe styles use brown Heel and Sole Edge Dressing.

Our Cordovan Tab belt is currently only offered online with a silver buckle.

Because the Van Ness in chili is a burnished calfskin, we recommend using Premium Shoe Polish in chili rather than Shoe Cream.

How To Measure Your Feet For The Best Fit

With more and more customers preferring the convenience of online shopping, we've developed easy-to-use tools to help ensure you take accurate measurements and get the proper fit with your shoes. To get a truly professional fitting, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, this Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit.

Helpful Tools

Tip #1: Measure At A Time That Fits
Feet tend to swell in different circumstances and at different times of the day. We suggest you measure your feet during the midday or late afternoon after you have been on your feet for some time.

Tip #2: Wear Socks When Measuring
Wear the type of socks that you'll likely be wearing with your new shoes, as the thickness of the socks may affect your measurements.

Tip #3: Stand Straight and Balanced
When you do the measuring, be sure both feet are on the ground and you're balanced and straight to get the proper foot placement.

Tip #4: Get Someone To Help You
You need to have a friend help you take the measurements because if you were to try to take your measurements yourself, when bending down to mark your length and width, your sizing would be affected. Make sure your friend takes your measurements looking straight down at the Shoe Fit Guide. Even viewing it at a slight angle may affect the outcome.

Tip #5: Give Yourself A Bit of Room
If your measurement is on a length line, we recommend you go to the next half-size longer in order to give your toes a bit of room.

Tip #6: One Foot Larger Is Common
Almost everyone has one foot larger than the other. The key is to determine your size from the measurement of the larger of your two feet. And obviously, be sure to measure both feet.
