I have two pairs of the Park Avenue in Walnut Grain and Merlot.
They are stylish and comfortable. They look great with a suit or slacks.
I always get compliments when I wear them. I can't believe the reviews I am reading about these shoes. No matter how good a shoe is they should not be worn everyday. Some of the shoes in the other reviews look like they were abused.
I wouldn't wear the same suit or a shirt several times a week. That would ruin it no matter how good the garment is. In other reviews, I have read that one shoe is bigger than the other. Most people have one foot larger than the other. If you maintain your shoes properly they will look as good as the day you got them. Rotate your shoes they will last a lot longer.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I own eight pairs of Allen Edmonds and won't buy anything else, so I don't have to be sold on the brand. BUT I am really disappointed in a pair of Park Avenues that I purchased one year ago. They were in-store fitted by an AE salesperson, and the fit was perfect. However, after only one year, one of the shoes has developed a small tear (actually a small hole) on the crease line (where the shoe flexes across the toe); the other shoe has a similar tear just about to open up. Although I wear them weekly, these shoes are stored in shoe trees and only worn with galoshes when it's wet aside. Not sure what's going on with this particular pair of shoes, but they have been a real disappointment.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This is my third pair of AEs, the other two also being built on the 5 last. Decided to go with a dressier, more formal cap toe and given the great fit of my other AE shoes, decided on the Park Avenue. Have worn just over 15 times and unfortunately due to the construction, have developed creases that cause the vamp area above my toes to dig into my foot with each step. The way that the shoe is constructed results in about 3/16 inch of leather from where the throat connects to the vamp to extend below the throat line, preventing the shoe from flexing in this area due to the double thickness. As a result, a deep crease has developed right below this area where the single leather thickness begins and right above my toes. Aside from this fact, the quality of the leather and the craftsmanship are great as with all other AE products I've owned. Just disappointed in the way the throat line on these is unable to flex and provide for a more natural, comfortable crease as with my McAllister and Strand.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I am on my feet for up to 12 hours a day and have found Allen Edmonds in general to be superb in terms of quality and, suprisingly, comfort. I currently own six pairs of AE shoes, but the Park Avenues are the best. What is most suprising, is that they are probably the most comfortable shoes I own, as well.
I wear them less than once a week but only because I'm afraid to wear out my best pair of shoes. I've now owned them for eight years and they look brand new.
Yes, I recommend this product.

My right foot ball hurts when walking barefoot since it feels as if my foot's bones directly touch the floor. I tried a Park Avenue model but my right foot felt as if I was walking barefoot on a hard cement floor. It hurt. A saleman at Nordstrom told me that as I wear the shoe the leather insole would mold to my foot and the shoe would feel comfortable as a glove but I don't want to take any chances. Do you have soft insoles that can be inserted on a Park Avenue shoe? If so, I will be glad to buy a pair. Otherwise I guess I will have to stick with a Johnston and Murphy comparable model that are not as good as A and E but at least have comfortable insoles. And of course, I am seeing a foot doctor soon. Thank you.

I have been wearing Park Avenues in 13C. My feet have flattened and widened with age and now find them to be uncomfortably tight. I want to but a couple of new pairs but would like to know how much wider a D width is before buying.

When moving from a “C” to a “D” width, you can expect approximately a ¼” increase in the overall girth of the foot. Girth is the measurement all the way around the widest part of one’s foot, typically at the ball of the foot. Depending on the size and the last on which the shoe is manufactured, this measurement can vary.

Hi, I love the park avenues - when I wear them I've got the best shoes in the office. so classy.

I've never owned a pair of leather soled shoes before and would love some more information on how to care for them to be sure the soles last.

I keep them in shoe trees, don't wear them in wet weather and only wear them every-other day. Is there any other general maintenance that needs to be done to a leather sole? Do they need to be oiled or treated?

All Allen Edmonds shoes feature shankless construction, meaning our shoes do not contain a metal shank like shoes from other brands. One major benefit of this type of construction is that Allen Edmonds shoes can pass through airport metal detectors without setting them off.

How To Measure Your Feet For The Best Fit

With more and more customers preferring the convenience of online shopping, we've developed easy-to-use tools to help ensure you take accurate measurements and get the proper fit with your shoes. To get a truly professional fitting, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, this Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit.

Helpful Tools

Tip #1: Measure At A Time That Fits
Feet tend to swell in different circumstances and at different times of the day. We suggest you measure your feet during the midday or late afternoon after you have been on your feet for some time.

Tip #2: Wear Socks When Measuring
Wear the type of socks that you'll likely be wearing with your new shoes, as the thickness of the socks may affect your measurements.

Tip #3: Stand Straight and Balanced
When you do the measuring, be sure both feet are on the ground and you're balanced and straight to get the proper foot placement.

Tip #4: Get Someone To Help You
You need to have a friend help you take the measurements because if you were to try to take your measurements yourself, when bending down to mark your length and width, your sizing would be affected. Make sure your friend takes your measurements looking straight down at the Shoe Fit Guide. Even viewing it at a slight angle may affect the outcome.

Tip #5: Give Yourself A Bit of Room
If your measurement is on a length line, we recommend you go to the next half-size longer in order to give your toes a bit of room.

Tip #6: One Foot Larger Is Common
Almost everyone has one foot larger than the other. The key is to determine your size from the measurement of the larger of your two feet. And obviously, be sure to measure both feet.

CARING FOR CALFSKIN & GRAIN LEATHERS
Use Allen Edmonds Conditioner Cleaner to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Carnauba Wax Polish, Premium Polish or Shoe Cream with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry. Remove excess polish by brushing with a horsehair shine brush and buff to a desired shine.

CARING FOR BURNISHED CALFSKIN
To remove the slight haze you may notice with a new pair of burnished calfskin shoes, wipe them with a soft cloth or brush with a horsehair shine brush. Clean regularly with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry. Then apply a medium coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Polish in the appropriate color and allow to air dry. Brush with a horsehair shine brush to remove excess polish and buff using a cotton flannel cloth.

Our 360° Goodyear welted footwear is characterized by its durability, comfort and fit. The manufacturing process consists of over 200 steps. The process begins with the cutting of the leather. Patterned dies are used, and pieces are cut based on the style. Skilled handsewers then stitch the vamps, plugs, foxes and quarters together to form the uppers. Next, each last is selected according to the style and size. The insole is attached to the bottom of the last. Then, the upper is pulled over the last with great care to make certain that seams are straight. The 360° welt is stitched around the perimeter of the outsole, eliminating the need for the rigid metal shank that is found in most other shoe brands. A heated cork layer between the insole and outsole allows each foot to form its own uniquely shaped print for true custom comfort. Finally, finishing touches are applied, and shoes are inspected to ensure perfection before being packaged.

Allen Edmonds 360° welted shoes are so well-made that we can actually return them to their original glory with our exclusive Recrafting process. Using the original manufacturing process, we literally rebuild worn footwear from the bottom up.

When you send your shoes in for Recrafting, our experts will first free the uppers from worn soles. Stretched over the proper last, the original uppers become shoes again through our unique manufacturing process. After your shoes are re-welted, re-corked, soled and heeled, old finishes are carefully removed from the leather and new polishes and waxes applied. In about four weeks, shoes that look surprisingly new are returned to you.
