Cahill Dress Loafers 5 5 1 1
Great shoe with great service I received this shoe that I ordered on line a couple of days ago. It looks great and fits right too. I find the AE loafers to be narrow. I retuned a pair of the Patriot and the Randolph trying to detemine why the vamp was so tight on those particular shoes. Thanks to the great patience and service of Brenda we discovered a wider shoe works. She gets my terrific service award. If you have this problem don't go somewhere else. Just go wider. These are the best shoes made IMO. April 1, 2013

With previous shoes I have purchased with a kiltie, with wear the kiltie becomes curled up or bent up and does not lie flat thereby detracting from the look of the shoe. Does this occur with the Cahill Dress Loafers?

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

Kilties may become bent or curled as a result of how and where the foot is flexing inside of the shoe.

Typically, this occurs when the bend or flex point in the shoe is occurring in front of the kiltie; this causes it to bend or curl up. For the majority of individuals though, this point of flexing occurs under the kiltie, and so will not bend up or curl.

Depending on the style and location of the kiltie, the results will vary from shoe to shoe.

The Cahill shoe

I wear an 11 - 11 1/2 WIDE shoe, have a high instep and am a big guy (280 lbs). Can this shoe give me the support I get with some of your other dress shoes?

I am BIG fan of AE and loved the Bridgestone shoe. Since you are not making this now, will the Cahill replace it?

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The Bridgeton and Cahill styles are both manufactured on our 9-Last (79); as a result, these two styles will feature similar support as well as a similar fit. Our 9-Last (79) has a tapered back portion which pushes the foot forward to fit low across the top of the foot rather than the instep. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.

Typically the same size and last can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape. The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.
