Purchased a Burgandy pair of Lombards a year ago....same problem as previous review....rubber sole separated from the leather after only a few months of wear. In addition, both rubber heels just fell off after about six months. I thought the rubber sole was a great idea for winter but these shoes are a major disappointment and a total waste of money. Comfortable but vey cheaply made shoes. I have exclusively worn Allen Edmonds for over twenty years depending on their quality and style. After only a year I am looking for a replacement pair and am now leery and cautious of all Allen Edmonds shoes.
No, I do not recommend this product.

The Good : quality leather, great style, good fit (for narrow/normal feet)
The Bad : Rubber sole is separating from the leather after only a few months of wear. Specifically near the front of the toe box. I would expect this from cheap shoes but not $300 AE. My Park Ave and Madison Ave shoes have been excellent. Madison seems to use a different rubber sole design...maybe more durable / less issues?
The left shoe also has an odd bump / misshapen toe. Right foot is complete round but the left has a noticeable bind / bump in the leather. Coincidentally, this is in the same area that shows the worst sole separation.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I am quite disappointed to have this shoe that lacks good shape and fit for a standard foot; tight in the forefoot, straight back and gapping at the heel. The size is the same as my 7 other Allen Edmonds, but is a huge misfire on fit.
Also, the shoe leather is softer and and of less quality compared to my others. Padding is nice, and the way the heel looks in dyed leather is very appealing.
These will go in my closet in the "do not wear pile" except for short periods.
The website does not discuss the fit of the last like others; therefore, I would not have purchased had I know how different this shoe fits.
Allen Edmonds, you are terrific, but not in this shoe...
No, I do not recommend this product.

I own 14 pair of Allen Edmonds, and I've never had a pair that made my feet hurt. I gave the Lombard every opportunity, but my feet always ended up in pain. I also felt the quality was a notch below the usual AE standards. Customer service denied this--but, at the same time, they offered to take back the pair I had. I exchanged them for a different AE dress shoe, which were--not surprisingly--very comfortable. So this episode demonstrated traditionally exceptional AE service on an uncharacteristically disappointing AE shoe. I hope they discontinue this Lombard line soon...it gives AE an undeservedly bad rep.

How To Measure Your Feet For The Best Fit

Our commitment to excellence starts with ensuring you have the right shoes for your personal needs and sizing. With more and more customers preferring the convenience of online shopping, we've developed easy-to-use tools to help ensure you take accurate measurements and get the proper fit with your shoes. To get a truly professional fitting, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, this Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit.

Helpful Tools

Tip #1: Measure At A Time That Fits
Feet tend to swell in different circumstances and at different times of the day. We suggest you measure your feet during the midday or late afternoon after you have been on your feet for some time.

Tip #2: Wear Socks When Measuring
Wear the type of socks that you'll likely be wearing with your new shoes, as the thickness of the socks may affect your measurements.

Tip #3: Stand Straight and Balanced
When you do the measuring, be sure both feet are on the ground and you're balanced and straight to get the proper foot placement.

Tip #4: Get Someone To Help You
You need to have a friend help you take the measurements because if you were to try to take your measurements yourself, when bending down to mark your length and width, your sizing would be affected. Make sure your friend takes your measurements looking straight down at the Shoe Fit Guide. Even viewing it at a slight angle may affect the outcome.

Tip #5: Give Yourself A Bit of Room
If your measurement is on a length line, we recommend you go to the next half-size longer in order to give your toes a bit of room.

Tip #6: One Foot Larger Is Common
Almost everyone has one foot larger than the other. The key is to determine your size from the measurement of the larger of your two feet. And obviously, be sure to measure both feet.
