I don't know what to make of it This is my 3d pair of Allen Edmonds, 1st within the AE selection. I wanted a comfortable boat shoe for the spring and summer and these looked excellent. Quality is top notch and it was aesthetically pleasing I first bought a size 7D which I tried around the house but felt it was too narrow so I proceeded to replace them with a 7EEE. Initially it was perfect but after a day use in my office discovered them to be too wide, causing my foot to slide all the way to the end of the toe box. Maybe a 6.5EEE would work. I also discovered heel pain after a long day use which I am now trying to alleviate with some Dr Scholls insoles. I find this weird because I can walk all day, no problems, with my McTavish and Players shoes but can't do it with a casual rubber issue. One big positive is the quality which continues to uphold the standard of the Allen Edmonds Brand. May 11, 2013
Fun and comfortable! A great shoe that is a stand-0ut when it comes to appearance. Not like every other casual shoe on the market. I get compliments every time I wear these. Will be ordering a pair in the brown/tan. February 14, 2013
My weekend shoe of choice I have not owned a pair of boat shoes in years. I had a pair of Sperry's years ago, but they were never as comfortable as these. It is still winter in the Midwest so I started wearing these around the house to break them in. It did not take long, these shoes are as comfortable as my old slippers and I am wearing them wherever I can, weather permitting. The color and baseball stitching is classy for a casual shoe. The best boat shoes I have ever owned. I have owned Seabago, Sperry and Timberland boat shoes and none can compare to the Center Fielder from AE. These shoes were comfortable the first time I put them on and have only gotten more comfortable the more I wear them. I have about 10 pairs of casual shoes and these are my favorite by far. I liked the Center Fielder so much that I bought a pair of Shortstops to give these a day off every now and then. A great buy and a great shoe! February 28, 2013

The Center Fielder is manufactured on our 2592 Handsewn Last which features a round, fuller toe and accommodates a full sock liner with heel-to-toe padding. While it does include a full sock liner, the fit for this style is still fairly flat.

Of what material is the rubber sole made?
