Well crafted. Not sized right Right shoe fits perfectly, left foot doesn't quite fill up the shoe and makes the shoe a little long. Shoe inserts can fix this. problem may be my feet. AE is definitely trying to correct past problems when shoes were too tight and too forever to break in. I definitely like the soles better. March 22, 2015
Worst AE buy out of 4 AE purchases I have buyer’s regret whenever I slip these things on. I wanted to like them since they were my first purchase from AE way back in 2011. Why did I wait this long to write a review? It's because I've given up all hope on them and can't wait for them to be unwearable, so I can trash them and not be reminded I wasted $250 every time I see them. The shoe never quite fit right compared to the AE oxfords I have. The shoe runs narrow and the leather at the heel is very stiff. After a full day at the office, these would be killing the back of my heels to the point I had to limp around. Also, unbearable, loud squeakiness which announced to everyone in the office I was on the move. Returned them after a few months for all of these reasons and got a pair that fit better, but the leather again is so stiff at the heel that it would cause problems after a few hours of wearing them. The squeaky noise wasn't present with the replacement pair. Even though I wear these pairs less than my AE oxfords, the new pair have worn terribly. Scuff marks all over the place and that heel hasn't softened at all. I've had them rebuilt once but now I'm not even going to bother anymore. Rather save my money and buy a completely different shoe. I'd ask for a refund but I've trashed these shoes in the past couple of months because I use them when the weather is bad outside. February 8, 2015
Has worn poorly These shoes have worn poorly since I puchased them early in 2014. I would like to return them. January 1, 2015
Wretched hide. These shoes are beyond a shadow of a doubt the WORST investment I have ever made in a pair of shoes. I have several pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes, and own shoes by Alden, Santoni, and To Boot as well and these cordovan loafers stand out by virtue of their poor quality. The shade of burgundy is not even close between the left and right shoes, the leather shows all sorts of scratches, appears dry as a bone, and have aged terribly. I returned them to my retailer because of the marked color difference and was given the run-around, they kept my shoes for six weeks and then gave me the same pair back claiming to have replaced them. My other AE shoes have been good, but I will not spend any money on cordovan shoes from AE again, as these have been a bitter disappointment. February 1, 2015

We suggest pairing the Kenwood in Tan Leather with the Teton Belt in Tan leather as the color and contrast stitching will complement the shoes nicely.

Dear Sirs,

I would like to acquire the KENWOOD PENNY LOAFERS shoes. So I printed your Size Print Guide, and the credit card test square fits, so I'm assuming that everything it's correct. The Size Print Guide give me a 9.5 of length, instead of the 7.5 of my usual footwear, such as of the brand Sebago.

Kindly let me know if I'm using the Size Print Guide properly, or if the size 9.5 in comparison with my usual size - 7,5 doesn't make any sense at all.

Regards,

José Gaspar

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds. Our shoes are constructed on a variety of lasts, so fit will vary from other manufacturers, but also within our own styles. To get a truly professional fitting, we highly recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, the Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help find the best possible fit.

It is imperative to follow each step in the guide as instructed, including standing up straight without looking down and having someone take the measurements for you. Bending down to try to take your own measurements to mark your length and width, will affect the sizing outcome.

If you've followed each step as instructed and require further assistance, please contact our online customer service team directly at eservice@allenedmonds.com or 1-877-817-7615 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-8PM CST) and they will be happy to assist you.

I received a pair under warranty when the first ones squeaked, and I have no doubt they would warranty them again until I got a quiet pair. I just haven't done it yet.

Answer:
Yes, based on customer reviews, a new anti-squeak process has been put into place which will significantly help remedy the squeak on the Kenwood loafer. We want you to know that at Allen Edmonds we stand behind everything we sell and customer feedback is essential to the development of our products, so if you ever have a question or concern about your purchase, please feel free to contact our online customer service team at eservice@allenedmonds.com or 1-877-817-7615 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-8PM CST).

What is the difference between the "Gentry" leather used for the black and burgundy Kenwoods and the "Polished" leather used for the black and burgundy Waldens?

Because the Gentry leather and Polished leather are sourced from different tanneries, as a result, the tanning processes are different. The Gentry leather tends to have a bit more depth in color, but other than that these leathers are very similar.

Should I place a shoe tree in my Kenwoods? Not sure if the standard AE cedar shoe tree will maintain the toe and not deform it.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

Yes, we recommend using shoe trees for all of your Allen Edmonds shoe styles. The main purpose of our shoe trees is to deodorize and maintain the shape of your shoes; they should have a snug fit but you should not be concerned about our shoe trees stretching any pair of your shoes wider or longer as long as you have the correct shoe tree size. To find the appropriate shoe tree size for your shoes, simply click the ‘Size & Fit” tab on the details section of the shoe trees product page.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The Kenwood and the Walden are both Handsewn styles. The Kenwood is constructed on the 800 Last which has a semi-rounded toe and roomier instep while the Walden is constructed on the 114 Last which features a slightly shorter vamp with a more rounded toe. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.

Typically the same size can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape. The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

You can also learn more about all of our lasts by selecting “All About Lasts” under Shoes 101 at the bottom of the page, or by clicking the following link: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonlin...

Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
