This shoe takes me everywhere! LOVE this shoe. It is comfortable and versatile. It works for all but dressiest of occasions. It is my go-to shoe for travel because they are spiffy enough for an evening out and instantly upgrade a pair of slacks or jeans but not so grand that I cannot wear them with a pair of shorts. Way too tight I agree with the last two reviewers. I have worn these shoes a number of times now, and I find myself wanting to remove them while at my desk. They are extremely tight and have yet to be broken in by any means. The bridge is extremely tight. They are also difficult to put on. Not worth the price when they cause this much pain (or any pain). Allen Edmonds Woodstock I received my pair of Woodstock's this past christmas and I love the look, workmanship, and the fit but the shoes have had a horrible squeak in them since the day I got them. I have tried the suggested powder, Vaseline, and I even gave them plenty of time to break in and still they have a loud annoying squeak. I have owned many pairs of leather shoes and know they occasionally squeak but these particular ones costed $300. Storefront told us this is normal and I could either deal with it or pay for a redrafting. I think this should be addressed but not at my expense. February 20, 2014
great shoe but started squeaking I love the shoe, the best looking in its class. I'm not sure why but one of them has started squeaking after 20 or so wears. They haven't been exposed to water or anything and I have them polished regularly. Would appreciate any suggestions. December 30, 2013

The “squeaking” noise in a premium leather shoe is normally caused by two types of leather in the shoe’s construction rubbing together. This noise does not indicate a problem with the construction of the shoe; it is natural for two types of leathers which are layered upon one another to make noise. Applying a talcum powder can help to reduce this.

The Woodstock is Handsewn style, constructed on our 114 Last which features a slightly shorter vamp with a more rounded toe. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.

The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

I have 3 pairs of Park Avenues (one is about 20 years old). I wear them in an 11.5 medium width. I have almost a full size difference in my feet size. Would you recommend an 11.5 or 12 in this shoe. I don't want to squeeze my feet uncomfortably and I don't want to have to put in a heel insert in the shoe for my smaller foot or risk stepping out of them. Advice? Are they returnable and do I pay return shipping?
Thanks

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The Woodstock is Handsewn style, constructed on our 114 Last which features a slightly shorter vamp with a more rounded toe. Meanwhile, the Park Avenue is manufactured on our 5-Last (65) which is the longest in length of our lasts, and best for a long, narrow foot. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.

Typically the same size and last can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape. The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. At this time, the Woodstock is limited to the sizes and widths currently available online.

The easiest way to filter for what we currently have available in your size and width is by using those filters on the left hand side of “Shoes” page; select “10” under Size and your “C” under “Width” to search for your desired size/width combination.

You can also see what we currently have available in a size 10C by clicking on the following link: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonlin....

We offer the Nashua style in a 10C, which is similar to the Woodstock. Keep in mind, typically the same size and last can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape.

Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
