Modena - Italian Made Moc-toe Slip-on Loafer Men's Dress Shoes Modena is known as "the capital of engines" because it is home to world-famous automobile manufacturers Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini. Inspired by these state-of-the-art sports cars, we updated this classic loafer design with some more modern details. For instance, the recessed stitching on the Nappa calf upper presents a lower profile, providing these shoes with a sleek shape sophisticated enough to pair with a suit. On the other hand, by eschewing the traditional bit or tassel in favor of an artistic lacing saddle-detail as well as rounding the toe and sole, we've given this Slip-on Loafer a relaxed feel that will work equally well with denim or khakis. The Modena is a great looking loafer and is comfortable from the first day.
I am very pleased with the style of the shoe and the leather is extremely soft.

The Modena is a member of our Italian Collection, which is handcrafted using Bologna construction. The Delray is constructed on our 8-Last (108), which features an elongated forepart with a tapered and flatter toe. Though the Italian Bologna Construction for the Modena has been known to have a slightly more snug fit, by selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.

Typically the same size and last can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape. The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

How To Measure Your Feet For The Best Fit

Our commitment to excellence starts with ensuring you have the right shoes for your personal needs and sizing. With more and more customers preferring the convenience of online shopping, we've developed easy-to-use tools to help ensure you take accurate measurements and get the proper fit with your shoes. To get a truly professional fitting, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, this Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit.

Helpful Tools

Tip #1: Measure At A Time That Fits
Feet tend to swell in different circumstances and at different times of the day. We suggest you measure your feet during the midday or late afternoon after you have been on your feet for some time.

Tip #2: Wear Socks When Measuring
Wear the type of socks that you'll likely be wearing with your new shoes, as the thickness of the socks may affect your measurements.

Tip #3: Stand Straight and Balanced
When you do the measuring, be sure both feet are on the ground and you're balanced and straight to get the proper foot placement.

Tip #4: Get Someone To Help You
You need to have a friend help you take the measurements because if you were to try to take your measurements yourself, when bending down to mark your length and width, your sizing would be affected. Make sure your friend takes your measurements looking straight down at the Shoe Fit Guide. Even viewing it at a slight angle may affect the outcome.

Tip #5: Give Yourself A Bit of Room
If your measurement is on a length line, we recommend you go to the next half-size longer in order to give your toes a bit of room.

Tip #6: One Foot Larger Is Common
Almost everyone has one foot larger than the other. The key is to determine your size from the measurement of the larger of your two feet. And obviously, be sure to measure both feet.
