Use Instructions

  • Apply Allen Edmonds Heel and Sole Edge Dressing along the welt and heel base of your shoes for protection and to restore color. Remove any excess dressing by brushing with an Allen Edmonds Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth and allow to air dry at room temperature

Retouch Your Dirty, Worn Soles I've used the AE's Heel and Sole Edge Dressing several times of different pairs of dress shoes. I usually touch-up my dirty, worn soles when I get out the polish and horsehair brush. The applicator can be messy, but just use caution and be sure to wipe away any excess product from the shoe to give your soles a fresh, new look. February 17, 2013

Get the travel size The liquid contained in this bottle is just fine and does what it is supposed to as far as I can tell. The problem is the applicator--it's huge and unwieldy. You'll find it difficult or impossible to avoid getting edge dressing on the upper. The travel size, however, is just right and the one you want. December 27, 2012

You want the natural/neutral dressing. Keep in mind though that it is clear and does not restore color. If you have a black mark or something, it will only serve to add a clear layer on top, not cover up the mark. Also, buy the travel size if you can. This large size is awkward to use.

Right color for Player's shoe in black?

I have the AE player's shoe in black with a toasted/neutral sole (Sold by Nordstom's) I was wondering what the best method and color for polishing the sole edge as it has become scuffed and "whitish", ruining the look of the shoe. I'm not sure if I should use brown or chili.
