Exactly what you need at a good price
There really isn't a lot to say about a polishing cloth. The ones I've purchased from my local Allen Edmonds' Outlet are great. I've had no problem polishing and cleaning my shoes with these and keep several on hand for different color polishes. For their price they are a good value and if you can pick some up on discount - even better.

An excellent polishing cloth
It is important to understand the intended function of an item. This item is listed as a cotton flannel polishing cloth and for that function, I find that it excels. It's purpose is not for applying cremes or waxes to your shoes and thus it does not need to be wide. The cloth is for polishing and buffing where you are moving the cloth back and forth over the shoe with both hands. For this purpose, you want a relatively long and moderately wide cloth. Since you are pulling on the cloth when you polish/buff, you want the cloth to be reinforced, which this cloth is. I have over 10 of these polishing cloths and with them I can create a deep warm polish on my AEs. When I feel that the cloths are dirty, I soak my them in cool water with a sprinkle of Wool-lite in the water and the cloths come out snow-white. After air drying, they are good as new. I have several cloths that are a year old and have endured 3 - 4 washings and still look pristine. These are excellent polishing cloths. Now for applying cremes/waxes and generally buffing, I do use the Saphir chamois cloth, which is twice the width of the AE polishing cloth and double sided. However, it is also 5x the cost of the AE cloth and is not as effective when polishing. If you are looking for a great polishing cloth, you will not go wrong with this item. If you are looking for a more general purpose shoe chamois, then there are other options.

Save your money
I bought two of these during their anniversary sale and I am glad I did get some type of discount because they are not worth the $2, I would have never bought them if I seen them first. They are very small and as noted they are only one sided. The Alden ones I bought for the same price are over 2.5x the size and two sided. I really can't be surprised everytime I make an AE purchase I am remember why I generally stay away.

Works Great
This product is easy to use and works great for polishing shoes. Even a dry rub removes light scuff marks. A bargain at this price.

Yes. You definitely want to use individual cloths for the different cleaners and waxes. Otherwise, you will "contaminate" the cloth and spread unwanted colors to your shoes. What I do is use a sharpie to write the polish color on the back of the cloth. I then fold the cloths when I store them so that I can easily read the color for that cloth.Age:Â 35-44

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.Because Allen Edmonds Conditioner Cleaner is colorless, It is not necessary to use separate cloths for application. However, if dyes from previous polishings run onto the cloth, we recommend hand washing the Allen Edmonds Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth in cold water to prevent any cross-contamination between leathers.

Answer:Â
Yes, there is. I do not know if it is the AE sanctioned method, but my method works very well for my purposes. I fill a sink with cool (just a shade colder than warm) water and add maybe 1 ml of Wool-lite. I stir the water with my hand to mix the Wool-lite. I then add the polishing cloths to the water. I have separate cloths for black, chili, brown, cognac, merlot, etc. polish, but I add them all to the same sink of water. My experience is that when the polish comes off the cloths in the water, it remains suspended in the water. I let the cloths sit in the water for several hours and then drain the water. I rinse the clothes with cold water and they are usually very clean, if not pristine. I then slightly stretch them by pulling on both ends and then hang them to air dry.Age:Â 35-44
