I hate to say it, but my recent Allen Edmonds experience has been less than stellar.
First, my brand new pair of Elgins had a heel coming off after only one wearing. (AE replaced free of charge).
Second, my shoe trees have a bad spring as another reviewer posted. I can't get the shoe tree in the shoe.
I really don't want to have to go to the store to get a new pair. Having Two poor quality items in my recent purchase is very disappointing. Now I'm concerned AE quality that I always admired is slipping away.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have numerous pair of AE shoes and boots and I enjoy them all. However, these shoe trees are not up to AE standards. The wood cracked within days of using, and worse, the springs refuse to compress when inserted into the shoes. It can take 10 minutes of coaxing to get the trees insterted. And, lest you think I am too unintelligent to use this product, I own a number of other shoe trees that all work fine.
As for fit, the XL is a bit too narrow to fill my EEE width Strands and Park Aves. At least they are reasonably priced. I wanted to like these, but cannot...
No, I do not recommend this product.

Ordered 4 pairs. Some are almost sapwood free, but others contain sapwood. All seem to meet the minimum 75% heartwood content that is claimed by the manufacturer. Finishing is a little asymmetrical on areas of the heel portion, but they are shoe trees, not furniture. Would order additional pairs.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Delivery & Size

I bought Allen Edmonds size 10 d dress shoes a month ago, and was wondering which shoe horn and what size shoe horn I should purchase. Apparently, there are two different one available. Also, If I live in Wisconsin, does the time to receive my order remain as 3 weeks?

Thanks

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

We currently only offer one style and size for our Allen Edmonds Brass-Plated Shoehorn.

We offer two types of shoe trees though to help care for your Allen Edmonds. For a size 10 D, we suggest using a Men’s Medium shoe tree. Both the Full-toe and Combination Cedar Shoe Trees will fit your 10 D or any other shoe style; however, the Combination Shoe Tree features an overhang heel and an expandable split-toe making this a highly functional shoe tree. The main purpose of shoe trees is to deodorize and maintain the shape of your shoes; either option will work well.

Depending on stock availability, Allen Edmonds Shoe Trees will ship from our Port Washington, Wisconsin facility in two to three business days.

Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

For a size 6.5 with widths E, EE, and EE, we recommend using a Small shoe tree. Although we do not currently manufacture shoe trees to fit those widths narrower than a 6.5E, our shoe trees are designed with an adjustable split toe to help fill out the shoe.

You can find the complete size/width combinations for our shoe tree sizes by visiting the Overview section of any of our shoe tree product detail pages.

Depending on the width of your shoe, a size 9 could use anything from a Small to Large shoe tree. For a size 9, widths AA, A, and B require a Small Shoe Tree, widths C, D, E, and EE require a Medium Shoe Tree, and width EEE requires a Large Shoe Tree.

You can find the complete size/width combinations for our shoe tree sizes by visiting the Overview section of any of our shoe tree product detail pages.

Thank you for your interest.

The choice between the Full-Toe cedar shoe trees and split toe/Combination cedar shoe trees is largely one of preference. While the Combination tree’s toe is split to allow it to better expand and form to the toe of your shoe, both styles work equally well to dissipate moisture and protect your shoes. The Full-Toe is the better selling style.

How To Measure Your Feet For The Best Fit

Allen Edmonds creates shoes with the highest standards of craftsmanship and style to give you the best experience possible.

Our commitment to excellence starts with ensuring you have the right shoes for your personal needs and sizing. With more and more customers preferring the convenience of online shopping, we've developed easy-to-use tools to help ensure you take accurate measurements and get the proper fit with your shoes. To get a truly professional fitting, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, this Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit.

Helpful Tools

Tip #1: Measure At A Time That Fits
Feet tend to swell in different circumstances and at different times of the day. We suggest you measure your feet during the midday or late afternoon after you have been on your feet for some time.

Tip #2: Wear Socks When Measuring
Wear the type of socks that you'll likely be wearing with your new shoes, as the thickness of the socks may affect your measurements.

Tip #3: Stand Straight and Balanced
When you do the measuring, be sure both feet are on the ground and you're balanced and straight to get the proper foot placement.

Tip #4: Get Someone To Help You
You need to have a friend help you take the measurements because if you were to try to take your measurements yourself, when bending down to mark your length and width, your sizing would be affected. Make sure your friend takes your measurements looking straight down at the Shoe Fit Guide. Even viewing it at a slight angle may affect the outcome.

Tip #5: Give Yourself A Bit of Room
If your measurement is on a length line, we recommend you go to the next half-size longer in order to give your toes a bit of room.

Tip #6: One Foot Larger Is Common
Almost everyone has one foot larger than the other. The key is to determine your size from the measurement of the larger of your two feet. And obviously, be sure to measure both feet.
