Though the Pembrooke and Adams feature the same leather design, the two styles are offered on different soles and leathers. The Adams is a member of our Independence Collection, an ultra-premium line of shoes which are flawlessly built with full-grain, double aged calfskin leather for an extraordinarily supple feel. The Independence Collection also features our two-toned sole with an all-leather heel base, brass nails on the heel and a brass nameplate with vintage Allen Edmonds logo script. This line is made in the U.S.A. and represents one of the finest collections from Allen Edmonds, aptly named after the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The Pembrooke, meanwhile, was available in our Black Burnished Calf and Burgundy Burnished Calf, both on our Single oak leather sole.

I realize that "burgandy" isn't an option among the choices for Premium Shoe Polish but, considering this is the polish/cream I typically use, I was wondering if there was a burgandy in the works or if another colour is sufficient (Merlot?)

I also noticed that both the shoe cream and carnuba wax polish both come in burgandy. What's the ration to blend together to create a product similar to the Premium Shoe Polish, as, according to your videos on YouTube (very helpful, fyi), the Premium Polish is a blend of the shoe cream and carnauba was polish. Don't worry, I'm a science teacher.

One last thing, is black heel and sole edge dressing appropriate?

I would recommend using the Merlot Premium Polish on the Adams along with the black heel and sole edge dressing. Otherwise, you could use the Burgundy shoe cream with the Burgundy Carnauba wax.

How To Measure Your Feet For The Best Fit

With more and more customers preferring the convenience of online shopping, we've developed easy-to-use tools to help ensure you take accurate measurements and get the proper fit with your shoes. To get a truly professional fitting, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, this Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit.

Helpful Tools

Tip #1: Measure At A Time That Fits
Feet tend to swell in different circumstances and at different times of the day. We suggest you measure your feet during the midday or late afternoon after you have been on your feet for some time.

Tip #2: Wear Socks When Measuring
Wear the type of socks that you'll likely be wearing with your new shoes, as the thickness of the socks may affect your measurements.

Tip #3: Stand Straight and Balanced
When you do the measuring, be sure both feet are on the ground and you're balanced and straight to get the proper foot placement.

Tip #4: Get Someone To Help You
You need to have a friend help you take the measurements because if you were to try to take your measurements yourself, when bending down to mark your length and width, your sizing would be affected. Make sure your friend takes your measurements looking straight down at the Shoe Fit Guide. Even viewing it at a slight angle may affect the outcome.

Tip #5: Give Yourself A Bit of Room
If your measurement is on a length line, we recommend you go to the next half-size longer in order to give your toes a bit of room.

Tip #6: One Foot Larger Is Common
Almost everyone has one foot larger than the other. The key is to determine your size from the measurement of the larger of your two feet. And obviously, be sure to measure both feet.
