Aberdeen - Long Wingtip Lace-up Oxford Men's Casual Shoes by Allen Edmonds

Whoever was the first person to say, "Everything old is new again" we can't help but think they were talking about the Aberdeen. An updated version of a shoe originally created in the 1940s, this four-eyelet blucher's throwback look is once again fashionable. Outfitted with a long-wing reminiscent of our timeless MacNeil, this design stands apart thanks to its more dramatic toe design and larger perforations along throat, wing and backstay. If you are looking for a classic feel, try on a pair in the Brown Grain leather. For those looking to convey a little more personality, check out the Smokey Grey and Tan Dublin styles, which patina differently depending on where and how you wear them. Traditional yet modern, old school but still the newest fashion, the Aberdeen is one shoe that can be everything to everyone.

Great looking shoe - but very uncomfortable, stiff Nice looking, versatile shoes. But these are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever owned. Won't break-in as salesman told me - and it doesn't matter how they look if you can't wear them! April 22, 2013
Versatility and Comfort for Travel and Leisure Own several dress pair of AE shoes... all are fantastic, but these are the BOMB for comfort and versatility. The supple, slightly distressed brown leather and rubber soles contrast & balance nicely against the fabulous brogue detail, making them easy on the feet and the eyes. Nice design work bringing the past forward! March 19, 2013
Beautiful shoe, but I don't like the soles. I do love the shoes, but the soles are a little too heavy for my liking. If they had them stock in the Combo Tap soles, they would be my number one shoe. I walk to work every day about a mile, so I need a sturdier sole. These are great for a night out or going around town. March 3, 2013
Too Stiff This is my 2nd pair of Allen Edmonds. First pair were black Strands. Awesome shoe. Look great. Very comfortable. Virtually no break in period. For my 2nd pair I wanted to try a more casual shoe, so went with the Aberdeen. It's a nice looking shoe, but very stiff even after about a month of trying to break it in. I still love the brand but next time I will definitely stick with the leather soled shoes. No more rubber soled Allen Edmonds for me. March 2, 2013

After going through your online fitting the width of my foot is right on the line or D and E. Can you please let me know, in your best opinion, of this last will work in a D (e.g. is there a little extra width or would it be considered on the narrower side)? thanks, I know a fitting it is the best answer, but I live out of the country right now and will only be in the States long enough to try on at home and either keep or return.

Thank,

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

Though our online Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit, we still recommend getting a proper fit by a master fitter in one of our retail stores. Since this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

Assuming your measurements are accurate, we recommend ordering the Aberdeen style in the E width.

Answer:
In my particular case, this shoe does not seem to run large. I wear a 9.5 EEE and have been quite pleased with the fit.
Hope this helps.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The Jefferson style is manufactured on our 5-Last (65), which is the longest in length of our lasts, and fits best on a long, narrow foot. Meanwhile, the Aberdeen is constructed on our 2-Last (222). The 2-Last features an elongated toe with a slightly higher instep, and is very similar to the 8-Last (108) in that it also has an elongated forepart, only with a tapered and flatter toe. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.

Typically the same size and last can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape. The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

At this time, the Aberdeen style is limited to availability with the Toby mini-lug rubber sole.

However, it is possible for an individual to request a different rubber sole be put on their current shoes as a part of our Recrafting services in place of their current sole. Keep in mind, the selection of which soles is limited to certain styles. Learn more about Recrafting under our recrafting link here: http://www.allenedmonds.com/webapp/....
