My New Favorite Shoe I read the mixed reviews about these shoes online and decided to take a chance. After two or three days breaking them in, the fit is perfect and I wear them constantly. I have had more compliments on these shoes than any other pair of AE's I own. June 13, 2013
Wonderful Shoe Great looking shoe that goes well with jeans or casual pants. Very comfortable and great fit. It is very sad that Allen Edmonds has stopped making this shoe. If you can find it in your size either through the AE website, Zappos or a retail store (Not AE) buy it, you will not regret it. This is the only pair of shoes that I have ever owned that consistently gets positive comments. May 16, 2013
Love these shoes! I have only worn these once, but they were comfortable right off the bat. I'm a 13D with a high arch and they seem to fit true to size. Compared to the McTavish these are just a little longer, but I didn't find them to fit narrower. The double soles will take a little while to break in, but they were fine to wear for a day that involved walking around a few department stores and following the kids around a playground for 45 minutes. Beautiful shoe. Runs a little big. This is my first pair of Allen Edmonds shoes. I've worn Johnston & Murphys for years, but always admired the AE's. My last monk straps were a pair of black Doc Martens that I completely wore out. The Lubbock is really beautiful. Definitely a casual shoe. The leather is thick and substantial. I measured an 11 D, but based on other reviewer's feedback, I also ordered a 10 1/2 D. I tried both pairs on with a mid weight cotton sock. The 11's were roomy, both in width and length, and I got some heel slip. The 10 1/2's are spot on. They'll take a bit of breaking in, but the shoes are handsome and will be my "go to" casual shoe for jeans, chinos, and dressing down with a sport coat. April 30, 2013

sizing

A&E

I've a pair of 11 D park avenues- tremendous shoe, great investment- except they are a little loose- but snug up with heavier socks and as feet swell.

I'm highly interested in the Lubbock's you've on clearance, and am wondering if I should order a narrower size, "B" esp. that they're a monk strap? And, if they are too tight, may I return for D?

I don't have the park avenues, but I do have a pair of McTavish. I found these to be roughly equivalent in width although a little longer. I'm a 13D with a high arch.

The Park Avenue is manufactured on our 5-Last (65), which is the longest in length of our lasts, and fits best on a long, narrow foot. Meanwhile, the Lubbock is manufactured on our 2-Last (222), which features an elongated toe with a slightly higher instep and is very similar to the 8-Last (108) in that it also has an elongated forepart, only with a tapered and flatter toe. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.

Typically the same size and last can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape. The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

Hi,

I have a long skinny foot and the #5 last is perfect for me. I'd like a pair of these but know that my foot would be swimming in them (11.5B in a Park Avenue). Can these be made on the #5 last or can you lower the instep so it fits better on my low volume, low arch foot?

For the Lubbock style in Chesnut Waxy Leather, we recommend using our Conditioner/Cleaner to remove any surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. Follow with Allen Edmonds Saddle Soap to help smooth the leather and restore the natural oils. Finish by using our Heel and Sole Edge Dressing in Natural.

Yes, the Lubbock shoes can be recrafted. They are manufactured in our Port Washington, Wisconsin factory with 360 degree Goodyear welt construction, making the shoes eligible for our recrafting service.

The leather in each pair of shoes will vary slightly, with some leather more distressed than other pairs. If you are unable to visit a store to physically look at the shoes, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused, accompanied by the packing slip and is part of our current catalog.
