I am really impressed with the Lubbock. It's appearance is striking. It is bold, massive, and looks great with any casual attire. It is so well made it should last almost forever. It is one of my most favorite pair of AE and I own more than most.

These shoes are beautiful. They're not something you're going to wear to a wedding, but they're at home just about anywhere else. These have quickly become my favorite pair of shoes, and I own a dozen.
Unlike other reviewers, I didn't find that the shoes ran large at all. I went down half a size based on the reviews here, and after two weeks I think I should have stuck with my usual. They're still reasonably comfortable, but they're a bit snug compared to my other AEs in my usual size.
Yes, I recommend this product.

The Lubbock looks amazing, 5 stars on looks alone. Perfect with jeans or chinos, not so much with suits. Unfortunately the sizing is a bit off. I am normally an 11D in AE but had to go down to 10.5D on these. This may be in part due to the 2-222 last, which has a higher instep, causing these to feel loose across the top of my foot, even on the tightest strap hole. This is probably exacerbated by the hidden elastic band that holds the buckle, allowing even more give across the top while walking (perhaps giving a false feeling of being wider than they really are). The leather is stiff and substantial, but didn't bother my feet at all -- not much time to break in. In short, a great shoe, but make sure you go into a store for a fitting and don't order based on your normal AE size.

Hi,

I have a long skinny foot and the #5 last is perfect for me. I'd like a pair of these but know that my foot would be swimming in them (11.5B in a Park Avenue). Can these be made on the #5 last or can you lower the instep so it fits better on my low volume, low arch foot?

Each Allen Edmonds shoe style and pattern is designed specifically for the last they are manufactured on. Because of this, we do not do special makeup's on different lasts. You can see what we currently offer in the 5-Last by clicking on the following link: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonlin...?.

Typically the same size and last can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on last and individual foot shape. The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

The Lubbock is manufactured on our old 2-Last (222), which has an elongated toe with a slightly higher instep; it is very similar to the 8-Last (108) which also has an elongated forepart, but with a tapered and flatter toe. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.

Typically the same size and last can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape. How To Measure Your Feet For The Best Fit

Allen Edmonds creates shoes with the highest standards of craftsmanship and style to give you the best experience possible.

With more and more customers preferring the convenience of online shopping, we've developed easy-to-use tools to help ensure you take accurate measurements and get the proper fit with your shoes. To get a truly professional fitting, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, this Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit.

Helpful Tools

Tip #1: Measure At A Time That Fits
Feet tend to swell in different circumstances and at different times of the day. We suggest you measure your feet during the midday or late afternoon after you have been on your feet for some time.

Tip #2: Wear Socks When Measuring
Wear the type of socks that you'll likely be wearing with your new shoes, as the thickness of the socks may affect your measurements.

Tip #3: Stand Straight and Balanced
When you do the measuring, be sure both feet are on the ground and you're balanced and straight to get the proper foot placement.

Tip #4: Get Someone To Help You
You need to have a friend help you take the measurements because if you were to try to take your measurements yourself, when bending down to mark your length and width, your sizing would be affected. Make sure your friend takes your measurements looking straight down at the Shoe Fit Guide. Even viewing it at a slight angle may affect the outcome.

Tip #5: Give Yourself A Bit of Room
If your measurement is on a length line, we recommend you go to the next half-size longer in order to give your toes a bit of room.

Tip #6: One Foot Larger Is Common
Almost everyone has one foot larger than the other. The key is to determine your size from the measurement of the larger of your two feet. And obviously, be sure to measure both feet.
