2 Everyone knows the Missouri was the waterway Lewis & Clark followed on their journey to explore the un-chartered territory of the American West. Named for the same river, this newly designed belt is ideal for those looking to discover something novel to add to their wardrobe. A sense of timeless individuality is conveyed by the Art Deco, geometric etchings on the buckle and loop. Modern in shape, yet reversible so that it functions equally well with both black and brown shoes, the Missouri is sure to be your gateway to a new world of fashion possibilities. Reversibile belt Manufactured with five distinct belt holes, placed 1 inch apart from one another 32mm wide Made in U.S.A. Sizing: Our belts are measured from the inside edge of the buckle to the center hole. Because of this, we recommend selecting a belt one full size larger than your waist size. For example, if the waist size on your slacks is a 36" we recommend ordering a 38" belt.

I am very pleased with this belt. I do not know why the first reviewer had a problem; my belt is fastened into the buckle by two Phillips-head point-end set screws, which I carefully removed and replaced in order to get the UPC tag out. The screws hold the belt in securely, and there is little chance of them backing out; if they are a bit loose, it's nothing that a drop of Loctite can't handle. Perhaps the first reviewer had an older version with a different retaining method? Mine is holding up very well. I have worn it several times and no sign of wear yet. The reversible feature evens out the wear on both sides, so there isn't as much deformation at the buckling hole. I wear it with both my black suit pants and my khakis, about 2-3 days a week, and I love the Art-Deco look of the buckle (my "look" when I dress up is generally a kind of 1930's-'40's look). It is a bit pricey; best to get it while it's on sale this last week before Christmas. Otherwise this belt has served me very well so far, and I find it to be a very good quality belt.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This belt fits well, is very stylish and I bought it to wear with my black and dark brown pairs of ae shoes. The quality is not good however. The reversible hardware piece of the belt is attached to the leather piece with two pins that only attach the leather to the bottom side of the hardware and the pins do not go all the way through to the top side (the top side being the side of the belt that faces forward) and one of the pins came out. It just seems like a poor way to attach the hardware to the belt and I guess the pins don't attach to the top side of the hardware so it doesn't show on the belt. So now the belt is crooked because the leather is only attached to the hardware with only one of the pins. I can't really wear the belt anymore because I'm afraid the other pin might come out too and it looks very odd with the crooked hardware. The belt is comfortable and fits well, but have to give only one star overall because of the quality.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Answer:
I find that belts generally are sized one size bigger than pant size. For instance, I take a size 36 waist for pants, but a size 38 belt seems to fit me the best. If in doubt, next time you're in the men's clothing section of a decent department store, like Macy's, Kohl's or J.C. Penney (NOT W*l-Mart--sorry, but you never know what you're getting there), take a belt into the fitting room, and try it on with your pants best you can without removing the plastic security hanger. Dockers is a good brand to try this with; Allen Edmonds belts are similarly sized (although belt size can vary within a brand). You will want a belt that buckles comfortably in the middle of the line of holes, leaving room for whether you gain or lose weight.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest.

The proper sizing for Allen Edmonds belts is two inches larger than waist size. This is to account for the length of the buckle. This method should result in using the center of the five buckle holes, allowing for adjustment larger or smaller as needed.

How To Measure Your Feet For The Best Fit

Allen Edmonds creates shoes with the highest standards of craftsmanship and style to give you the best experience possible.

Our commitment to excellence starts with ensuring you have the right shoes for your personal needs and sizing. With more and more customers preferring the convenience of online shopping, we've developed easy-to-use tools to help ensure you take accurate measurements and get the proper fit with your shoes. To get a truly professional fitting, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds Master Fitter at any one of our retail stores. However, if an Allen Edmonds store is not located near you, this Shoe Fit Guide is designed to help ensure your Allen Edmonds shoes are the best possible fit.

Helpful Tools

Tip #1: Measure At A Time That Fits
Feet tend to swell in different circumstances and at different times of the day. We suggest you measure your feet during the midday or late afternoon after you have been on your feet for some time.

Tip #2: Wear Socks When Measuring
Wear the type of socks that you'll likely be wearing with your new shoes, as the thickness of the socks may affect your measurements.

Tip #3: Stand Straight and Balanced
When you do the measuring, be sure both feet are on the ground and you're balanced and straight to get the proper foot placement.

Tip #4: Get Someone To Help You
You need to have a friend help you take the measurements because if you were to try to take your measurements yourself, when bending down to mark your length and width, your sizing would be affected. Make sure your friend takes your measurements looking straight down at the Shoe Fit Guide. Even viewing it at a slight angle may affect the outcome.

Tip #5: Give Yourself A Bit of Room
If your measurement is on a length line, we recommend you go to the next half-size longer in order to give your toes a bit of room.

Tip #6: One Foot Larger Is Common
Almost everyone has one foot larger than the other. The key is to determine your size from the measurement of the larger of your two feet. And obviously, be sure to measure both feet.
