Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Conditioner Cleaner to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 Great shoe! Make sure that this last is right for you...cannot stress enough how important it is to have a shoe "fit" properly. I have 4 pair of AE shoes...two on this last, and two on the 65 last. The 65 last fits okay, but the 333 last is perfect...really makes a difference in the feel. The shoe is very versatile, I wear it with nice jeans on the weekend, and with nice wool pants and a dress shirt during the week. I have received numerous comments about the perforated toe. Shoe looks elegant while still retaining masculinity. September 17, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brian Great Shoe I got this shoe in Walnut. Of the 22 pairs of Allen Edmonds that I own, the Flat Iron gets the most compliments. I find it goes great with my business wear and works superbly with jeans or chinos. It is both comfortable and attractive. The construction quality of the shoe is very good. I do not shop for a specific size shoe with AE, the "right size" will vary based on the last that a shoe is built on. If a shoe I am interested in is built on a last that I have not worn, I will go into an Allen Edmonds store to figure out the correct size for me. I have shoes in 11E, 11EEE, 11.5D and 11.5E. Due to the elongated vamp, the 333 last is a model that will likely vary from your "off the rack" size. My "off the rack" shoe size is 11.5E. For the Flat Iron, 11E was the right size. Rated 2 out of 5 Leather quality sub par The overall fit and design are in line with my expectations based on the three other pairs of AEs that I own. However, this s the first pair I've purchased post the Brentwood Associates buy out, and I am definitely wondering if they are trying to cut corners with leather quality. I've had the shoes for about three months now, and since day one the leather has been very loud and noisy (almost squeeky). I was hoping I simply needed to break them in, but I've worn them at least a dozen times (probably more) and they are still as loud and obnoxious as day one. I plan to reach out to customer service soon and see what can be done. If the answer is nothing, I won't be buying another pair and will have to find a different brand to embrace and pitch to my friends. February 16, 2015
