Overview

We're not naming names, but over the last couple years we've seen countless shoe companies try to replicate our signature walnut burnished calfskin. Thing is, we've been doing it for nearly a century so no matter how hard they try nobody does it like Allen Edmonds. And you don't have to look any further than the Larchmont to know how true that is. Created on the 333-Last for a streamlined look, this is our new take on the classic American long wing tip. A five-eyelet blucher with all the traditional brogueing elements, this modern squared-off toe design highlights the unmatched finish on the leather. Designed for the businessman who is at the top of his game, the Larchmont is sure to be imitated but certainly never duplicated.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Conditioner Cleaner to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by One of my favorites! I was a little hesitant that these may be too "fashion forward" for my traditional tastes, but now I love the slightly longer, tapered look. Its not at all overdone, and the shoes are very comfortable. A real winner. October 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Definitely My Favorite Pair of AE Shoes I'm biased. I like AE shoes a lot. But the Larchmont Wingtips in the Walnut Burnished Calf are my favorite pair. They're comfortable, and they look great. I like to mix up the color of the laces on them as well. Seriously, just get them. September 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 Bravo! While my favorite last is the 222, the majority of shoes I own are on the 65. Finally decided to try the 333 (with the Larchmont) and glad I did. I don't know whether it is because they are a blucher, but wow are these comfortable. Normally I have a break-in period with my shoes, but these were the first where they were crazy comfortable right out of the box. I think my first day wearing them I must have walked for a good 3 miles and forgot I even had them on. For the record, I went down 0.5 sizes in length and kept the same width. Same size (length & width) as my size with 65 & 222 lasts. June 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by What a fabulous shoe! Ive never owned a more artistic, well made shoe. I am pleased in every way with the purchase of this addition to my wardrobe. It stands out in style, and is excellent in comfort fitting just right. February 18, 2015

There's a question up asking for the difference between the Larchmont and the MacNeil, the answer to which is the last and the sole. Am I right that the Larchmont an the McGregor have the same sole, and so the only difference between them is the last?

Also, is the styling of the brogue identical in all three styles? They are all long wings and the photos make them seem identical, but I can't tell whether there are some minor differences between them.

Answer:
I wouldn't use the verbiage "only difference" when it comes to "lasts". The "last" is the most important part of the shoe when it comes to your comfort. The soles on MOST A&E shoes are "Goodyear welted" and are practically bullet proof. This important feature is important because the shoe can be re-soled IF you don't wait for the damage to get into the interior of the shoe. Read up on A&E's web pages regarding the different aspects of shoe construction and keeping the shoes for a "Long Time". I learned more in ten minutes regarding shoes (and why some are cheap, and others pricey) than I had in the previous "multiple decades". More you know, the better you'll spend your money, and the happier your feet will be!

Answer:
The main difference between the Larchmont and McGregor is the fit of each style since they are constructed on different lasts. The other difference is that the Larchmont features a Poron insole for added cushion. Other than that, the same design pattern is used on both styles.

We recommend the 30" Dawhyde replacement laces in Brown if you have the Bourbon or the Walnut style, or in Black if you own the Black leather style.

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

We have formulated a new shade of bourbon which we now offer and recommend for our Bourbon styles, including the Larchmont in Bourbon. We apologize for the miscommunication of the recommended care products; the information on the Shoe Care Reference Guide will be updated soon.

Answer:
The difference is in the last, which will affect the fit and maybe even the size of the shoe you will need.

The Larchmont also has a narrower, more European look to it while the Macneil is more traditional American-style.

Answer:
The "lasts" are different, with the Larchmonts having a 3-333 last compared to the Macneils' which have a 7-97. In looks the Larchmonts are sleeker, dressier, and in my opinion, more elegant. And immediately comfortable.
The Macneils, by contrast, are more "American Business" looking. They are a very handsome shoe, well designed, and I think they have an aggressive look, depending on the clothing, and setting. Both shoes can be dressed up, or down, and look great.
So it boils down to a matter of taste and use, and what feels more comfortable to the individuals' feet. Both are great shoes.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

Though the Larchmont and MacNeil styles are quite similar in appearance, the two do feature some of their own unique characteristics.

The MacNeil style is manufactured on our 7-97 Last, which is the best fit for the average foot and lays flatter in the toe area. Meanwhile, the Larchmont is constructed on our 3-333 Last, which features a slightly elongated profile with a square toe shape giving the shoe a more ‘Euro’ look and fit. The Larchmont is also constructed with a foam comfort insole, regular welt, and our single oak leather sole. The MacNeil has a split-reverse welt and double oak leather sole.

Available in a Black Custom and Walnut Grain Calf, the MacNeil is also a member of our Cordovan Collection which is made from genuine Horween Shell Cordovan. This shoe is also one of our “Custom Shoe” styles that can be ordered in a number of additional special makeup colors, leathers, and sizes.
