Overview

This clearance shoe is a closeout style, and is therefore limited to the sizes and widths that are currently available online.

This is the shoe for the man that knows power and responsibility are not mutually exclusive, but instead inextricably joined. The classic tapered-toe profile of this 7-Last shoe-which fits almost every foot well-is strengthened with an extended perforated wing-tip and upper as well as dramatic toe detailing, all of which convey the authority and control of a man who means business. The sturdy double oak leather sole on these bluchers will make others take notice as you walk into a room while allowing the shoe to smartly withstand the day-to-day rigors that undoubtedly come with the steadfast commitment of the day-to-day commute.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Conditioner Cleaner to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible Feel on feet. Absolutely horrific feel on the right foot. Despite multiple times being worn it is still as uncomfortable as initial time I put them on my feet. I own 20 pair of AE and this is by far my worst purchase. Maybe I can stretch them, if not I wasted my money. November 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Last of a kind I bought an extra pair of this shoe because, like the Leeds style, it is being "updated". I have worn Leeds and these for years and am highly reluctant to change regardless of the reason. I don't care for the new soles on either style preferring the heavy double leather sole with the premium heel. I guess AE is trimming to control cost but I think the jury is out at least for me. However, the "old" versions are magnificent examples of why AE has been my favorite shoe for 50 years and counting. I just hope the corporate decisions to get into clothes and the like is not at the expense of the shoe line or they too will disappear from the landscape. September 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Solid, Traditional Design I have this style in shell cordovan from other manufacturers and have worn this style for over 30 years. This style will outlive us all. You can't go wrong. You will always receive compliments. These shoes are comfortable and I expect they will become more so as I wear them over the years. And, they do not look like the cheesy "dress shoes" sold by the major department stores, except for, perhaps, Nordstrom, who sells Allen Edmonds shoes. September 6, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by To tight Went to the store in Manhattan to purchase but the clearance Macneil Wingtips were only online. They were kind enough to size me (10.5 B) and I ordered them online. The shoes look great, but are to tight. I assumed they would break in, but after 3 weeks of daily wear, they are still causing some blisters. Probably should have ordered a size wider. The MacNeil Wingtip has been replaced by the MacNeil 2.0 which is the newer version of this style. This previous version was moved to clearance because it has been discontinued and is therefore limited to the sizes and widths that are currently available to order online.

At this time, there are no immediate plans to update the MacNeil Cordovan, however it's always a possibility. We appreciate your feedback.

PORON is a foam layer placed between the leather topper (logo-stamped sock liner) and the footbed base; this layer is not removable. We only offer removable insoles on those styles designed to with the additional space to accommodate an orthotic. Those styles are typically made on the 511G or the 678 Lasts.

There are no plans at this time to discontinue the Macneil or the Macneil 2.0. The Macneil 2.0 was recently released to the line to offer customers the option of a different sole and additional comfort with a PORON® insole.

The MacNeil style is constructed on the 97 last which is one of Allen Edmonds early lasts, and has a soft, slightly pointed toe. It lays flatter in the toe area for a classic American look. The Leeds is constructed on the 511 last which is similar to the 97 last from heel to the ball of the foot, yet with a more rounded, fuller fitting toe. If the Leeds fits comfortably, we suggest trying the same size in the MacNeil, keep in mind however that each style will fit differently based on individual foot shape.

The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

The Walton and the MacNeil are constructed on different lasts and as a result they will each feature a different fit. The Walton is made on the 73 last which has the fullest fit measurement in the ball of the foot with a tapered toe and more room across the forefoot. The Macneil is constructed on the 97 last which is one of Allen Edmonds early lasts, and has a soft, slightly pointed toe. It lays flatter in the toe area for a classic American look.

The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. MacNeils - replace or recraft after 15 years?

I have a pair of MacNeils (13A) that are 15 years old. They fit so well, that even after all these years they still look pretty good. I have had them re-soled by a quality cobbler a couple of times over the years and think that may disqualify them for the AE recrafting offering. Where the leather bends while walking some cracks in the leather have appeared - hardly visible, but still. What are my options? Recraft, or replace (while 13A is not listed as available size...).

In some cases, prior work on Allen Edmonds shoes by other cobblers may prevent us from Recrafting a pair of shoes. Many cobblers are not capable of reconstructing our shoes as they are done in our own facilities. As a result, alternative methods of resoling are used by cobblers, such as stitching through the insoles, or driving nails through the insoles, and in many cases this prevents us from being able to disassemble the shoes. We recommend contacting the Recrafting customer service team directly at recrafting@allenedmonds.com or 1-877-495-5564 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-6PM CST) to see if they are able to recraft your shoes.
