Overview

This clearance shoe is a closeout style, and is therefore limited to the sizes and widths that are currently available online.

Dating back to 1181, the Rialto Bridge in Venice has been an artistic monument for nearly a millennium thanks to the refined simplicity of the structure’s columns and arches. We took these same clean lines and sleek contours into mind when we created the newest addition to our Italian Collection. Defined by its long, immaculate vamp, the Venetian loafer embodies the true essence of Continental elegance and is further highlighted by the simplicity of its single leather sole. The squarer toe is finished with a classic English moc design to add just the right touch of stylish panache that reflects on both European and American traditions. Made with soft Italian tannery calfskin that can be worn with just about anything from shorts to a suit, these slip-ons shape to your foot just as they will help you mold a personal look that spans the ages.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by exceptional mistake Agree with other reviews. When I received these shoes, I never should have kept them. Took on a long weekend getaway, where they only had gravel roads & walkways. Consequently, heel & soles look as if they have been worn for years, so can't be returned. However, right vamp had slight crease upon receipt, which is now very pronounced. Not uncomfortable, just look poorly & left shoe is starting to do the same. DO Not PURCHASE! February 15, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Beleive the Reviews I have a few pairs of Allen Edmonds and this is the only pair I've sent back. The leather is extremely rigid for a loafer and the aesthetics are just off on it. The front runs longer than it should...in fact, it runs so long that if you have a high arch like I do you might find yourself unable to even get it on (as I could not). Great company....just not their shining moment. January 5, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not as advertised This is a good looking shoe but hands-down the most uncomfortable "Italian" loafer I have ever worn. This style requires soft, flexible leather. Even after multiple leather softener applications it is extremely stiff and uncomfortable across the top of the foot. July 21, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great shoe except for unsightly creases on the vamp. Like the design and quality of the shoe, exactly what I was looking for. However, the vamp develop unacceptable, heavy wrinkles on the left shoe when I first put them on. Sent back for exchange and the exchange pair had the same thing happen on the right shoe. Sent it back, as well. I haven't receive another exchange pair, but if the wrinkles appear again I will ask for another style. July 9, 2015

I bought your Conway shoes many years ago and still enjoy their comfort and style. The size I bought is a 8.5 D 6/88 42906 style. Would still be making these loafers? Your Rialto looks very similar however, it has a leather sole instead of a rubber molded sole. Thanks,
Fred

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The Conway is a discontinued style and at this time there are no plans to re-introduce this style to the line. The Rialto which is from our Italian Collection is similar to the 145 Last of the Conway, however the main difference being in the vamp area. The toe boxes are similar but the Vamp on the Rialto comes up higher which can affect the fit.

It is vitally important to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores or retail partners to increase your chances of being fit correctly for each last and style. However, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoes in returnable condition.

I almost always go with a D width - however, when the leather is as stiff as something like this, high arch issues prevent me from even being able to put the shoe on. With other stiff leather loafers on some of the other lasts like the 114, 2592 & 800, going to an E width took care of the issue. Unfortunately, didn't realize these were made in Italy, meaning no E width, only triple E. Any plans in the future to have single E available? In the loafers on these other lasts I mentioned, going up a half a size also worked, but the fit was not very good - the width change was really what I needed.

Answer:
There are no plans at this time to offer the Rialto in any additional widths.

Similar styles that we recommend and that are offered in additional widths would be the Steen, Sanibel, or the MKE.
