One thing they teach you in school is that those who don't know their history are doomed to repeat it. We know our history and are determined to improve upon it. Case in point, the University, a shoe that is inspired by a design featured in our 1942 catalog. We've retained the classic pinking and perfing and sophisticated lines highlighted by the regular welt and 333 last profile that has already helped this shoe move to the top of its class. Updated for modern tastes, this six-eyelet balmoral has a u-throat wing that matches the contours of the vamp, giving the shoe a distinctly contemporary look. Further accentuating its reenergized vigor, this design also features a Dainite rubber sole and colorful secondary laces - blue for the black model and orange for the walnut version - which further proves this isn't your grandfather's oxford.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Our new Dark Chili and Oxblood burnished leathers can be cleaned using a damp cloth to remove dirt and any residue. Follow by using a soft cloth to apply our Allen Edmonds Saddle Soap which cleans all smooth leather shoes while restoring the leather's natural oils.

In general, rubber soles tend to provide better traction than leather soles, however, we do not consider them slip proof. We recommend excessing caution with any rubber soled shoe in sleek conditions.
