Overview

This clearance shoe is a closeout style, and is therefore limited to the sizes and widths that are currently available online.

By combining a storm welt with a Toby Mini-Lug sole, we've given these shoes a strength of character perfect for a rough-riding outdoorsman looking for a dressier alternative to his trusty work boots.

Reviews
Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Looking for a replacement after 7 months I purchased the Varno 2.0 in June 2015. Overall, I like the style, which has the appearance of a more rugged dress shoe and can be worn with either casual dress pants or jeans. It's is a heavy shoe, but comfortable and the fit is similar to my Leeds 2.0. However, the shoe has not held up to the standards I would expect from AE. I have been wearing the shoe regularly, one or two days a week, rotating it with other shoes and storing them with shoe trees. I also polished the shoes at least once per month to maintain my investment. Unfortunately, they simply haven't held up to the standards I would expect from AE. Even though the sole appears to be rugged, it has worn considerably more than expected. The leather has creased and threads have frayed. Seven short months later, they simply look like an old pair of shoes that I don't want to pair with casual dress pants. They need to be replaced, so it's been a disappointing investment. I could have purchased a competing brand for 50% less and been equally satisfied. January 23, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Quality Issues First pair of Allen Edmonds I purchased. Heel fell off the shoes while on a 3 day business trip (only pair of shoes I had with me). This was only the 4th time I wore the shoes. Will see the results from customer services. I called and they are sending an expedited a return package for quality control to review. More to come. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good shoe Iv'e had this shoe for about a week or so of wear. My 4th pair of AE's I bought this mainly for a work shoe with the rubber sole. Dressy enough to be worn at work, but can be a casual shoe as well. The leather is quite soft and comfortable, although not a higher grade of calf like a $400 shoe. The 511 is a much better fit for me, and I struggle to get a good fit on the 65 last. For $147, these are a good value while they are on closeout. The only minus for me is that the heel is a bit more aggressive and 1/4" or so higher than I thought. So to does tmake it look a little more casual and rugged. September 27, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Quality Left heel came loose with less than a week off use. I have other Allen Edmonds shoes that I have been using for a long time with no issues. Wonder what happened to the quality that I was looking forward to. Customer service was great. They sent me return shipping information and am now awaiting to hear back from Allen Edmonds on how they will fix the shoe. September 17, 2015

Can the premium shoe polish be used on the Varno leather? The "product care" only suggests using the leather lotion.

Answer:
The Varno 20 is made using calfskin and the Black Premium Shoe Polish can also be used when caring for this style. We apologize for the confusion this may have caused.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry! He is wearing the Leeds style in black, which is essentially a dress version of the Varno 2.0. The main difference between these two styles is that the Leeds features a leather sole, while the Varno features a rubber sole.

Answer:
Allen Edmonds shoes generally weigh between 3 and 4 lbs but shoe weight will vary depending on the size, width, and sole of a shoe; however, these variations will be fairly insignificant. The Varno style is not considered to have a significant weight difference between those styles.
