Overview

Authentic weathered nails are precision milled by hand to create a post style cuff link. These special and unique nails were used by industry as they had the year embossed in the nailhead and were driven into railroad ties as well as utility poles, bridge timbers and other wooden structures. They were used to mark the year of installation and now serve as a record of 20th century progress besides making a great way to celebrate a birth year, anniversary or favorite number.

Answer:
Because we obtain the Vintage Date Nail Cufflinks from Tokens & Icons and maintain our own inventory, we do not offer these products to be custom ordered. The date options are limited to what we currently offer online.

It will be my husbands 60th bday and so I am wondering which number to get and decided that if I knew what material it was made of it might help me to decide.
I also don't understand how the post works for a cuff link

Thank you for your help

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The Vintage Date Nail Cufflinks will slide through the hole of the shirt’s cuff and, thanks to the precision milled post, it will hold from the other side. The nails were made of a combination of steel, copper, aluminum, iron or brass; however, all will look more or less the same. We apologize for the miscommunication in the product’s description; we will have it updated soon.

Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
