Overview

The fast cars and fun times of racing are captured in this driving moc. Styled with a lower profile, this shoe has the same dramatic aerodynamic look you love on your favorite race car. Plus, when that sleek silhouette is combined with the contrast stitching on the vamp and beef roll, it only further accentuates the sporty look of a roadster that’s been detailed with striking racing stripes. And, just like any car relies on its tires, a shoe is only as good as its sole. The Daytona has one of the best—an Asti outsole that’s durable and flexible whether you are behind the wheel or on your feet. Unlined for a pleasant fit with or without socks, the oils and smooth finish of the Fargo leather make this slip on look as good as it feels, whether you are cruising down the open road or just hanging around the garage.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

We recommend using our Allen Edmonds Spray Waterproofer when caring for this style. Make sure the surface area is clean and dry. Spray evenly from a distance of 6 - 8 inches and allow to air dry before wear. Allen Edmonds Spray Waterproofer will not alter color, but it may darken the fabric initially while damp.

Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Well crafted. Attractive. Little snug. Overall great driver. I am very pleased with the materials, craftsmanship, and appearance of the shoe. I bought the navy color to offer some diversity to my shoe collection. Regarding fit: I have a wide forefoot and narrow ankle. I have been pleased with AE shoes in size 9D, which are a hair long but provide the forefoot room I need without gaping at the ankle (like 8.5W). For me, the Daytona drivers were initially very snug at the 9D size. I had a hard time getting my left foot in the shoe and wore them around the house before taking them outside. They have stretched a bit over 5-6 wears to where the shoe is now about right (though I wouldn't mind having a hair more room on the top of my foot). I would not be able to go down to a 8.5W as these do not have extra toe room to give up. I could have tried a 9.5D, but I assume a 9.5D would stretch and render the fit too big. Overall, I suspect the Daytona runs about a 0.5 size smaller than AE customers are used to in their other shoes. I am satisfied with the way the shoe has stretched. I bought the Daytona on sale ($145) and am very happy with the product for the money I paid. August 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The first casual shoe that I found that truly fits my foot I have a size 12 very very narrow foot; for years I've not been able to buy a casual shoe that is made for my narrow foot, until I found Allen Edmonds. I now have two pair of AE and will have more soon. August 23, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Good looking shoe but the fit was not good I probably have 15 pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes and the last 4 that I have purchased do not fit properly. It appears as if the lasts are changing and shoes that used to be 8 D's are not the wrong size. Most of the shoes that I own are purchased online and I am at the point that I will not be buying more Allen Edmond shoes because I am not sure of the fit and sending them back is a pain. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent choice Extremely comfortable. Sharp looking; simple but they make statement! August 17, 2016

Hi, I have a pair of Lexington size 9B. They feel a little bit long and narrow. I would like to know if the size 8,5 D would be better for me. Thanks.

Answer:
If you are a B in width, a D would be appropriate. They can run a little snug. That being said, I wear a 3E and ordered a 3E with no problem. I just needed to order half a size up.

Answer:
You would be better off sticking to 9B as Daytona seems to run a little smaller and shorter then Lexington.

Answer:
The Lexington was constructed on the 65 which is our most popular, classic fitting last. The longest in length of all of our lasts; best for a long, narrow foot; and often the best fit for those with high arches. The Daytona is constructed on the handsewn 555 last The 555 Last has a shorter forepart and round toe with a tighter instep providing a snug fit. Typically if a shoe feels long and narrow, customers try a smaller and wider shoe. It is difficult to recommend a size through this channel and guarantee a proper fit because each style will fit differently based on the contours of your feet.

It is vitally important to visit an Allen Edmonds retail store or retail partner for a professional fitting to increase your chances of being fit correctly for each last and style. However, if that's not possible keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoes in returnable condition.

The Leeds 2.0 is constructed on the 511 last which is similar to the 97 last from heel to the ball of the foot, yet with a more rounded, fuller fitting toe. The Daytona is constructed on the handsewn 555 last The 555 Last has a shorter forepart and round toe with a tighter instep providing a snug fit. The Duke Loafer in 13 EEE was too wide for me even thought I wear the same size in the Strands I own. Is this a shoe I should order in 13 E or EEE?

I would order a 3E. I am a 3E and ordered as such; however, I needed to go one half size up, which I've never done before.

For casual styles like this one, (among my 38 pairs of AEs) I currently own the Kirkwood and Grand Cayman. I tried the Ventura Highway and it also worked but just not as good as the Grand Cayman. These sort of look like the Ventura Highway but are on the 555 last. Would you be able to compare the fit of these to the others I have mentioned? My main concern is whether or not they run shorter in length that the others.

Answer:
The Daytona and the Kirkwood are constructed on the same 555 Last, so the fit of these two styles will be similar in both length and width. We suggest ordering the size of the Daytona based on how the Kirkwood fits you.
