To ensure unmatched traction the LaRomana siped boat sole features two different herringbone patterns that work together to grip even the slickest surfaces, making this shoe great for the avid sailor or amateur boatman alike. For those who prefer dry land, this warm-weather style features handsome rawhide lacing and handsewn stitching that pairs nicely with khakis, jeans or shorts. The two screen eyelets provide ventilation while 2592-Last design provides room in the rounded toe, ensuring the Eastport will provide you with a comfortable fit whether you are lowering the boom on your sailboat or just raising a glass on your back deck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best boat shoe I've owned I like shoes that are well made from high-quality materials. These shoes fit that description. I expect I will enjoy them many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice boat shoe! Love Allen Edmond's products! This one I needed a 10 EEE vs my usual 91/2 E. Of course, my foot size could be changing with age. This is a quality shoe! You will enjoy them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boat Shoe I've Owned When you initially wear these, you have to break them in (i.e. the soles and the achilles tendon area). Your achilles area may experience irritation as the shoe does rub against it with every step. To midigate this, I recommend using a blow dryer's heat on the inside portion of the rear part of the shoe to theb stretch the leather with the smooth end of a spherically-shaped object. Once that is done, the shoe then becomes extremely comfortable and easy to wear. The leather is of superior quality in that it can handle as much wear as being on the water can inflict. The shoe's bottoms have excellent traction for boating activities. That being said, proper care must be established to keep the shoes looking gently used. These shoes must be wiped with water if at any point when the dat is over, there is salt residue or any sort of dirt. if you wear these shoes often, I'd definitely apply leather lotion at least once a week (making sure to wipe it damp with water first and even applying the lotion to the laces). Second, if you wear these often, I'd suggest applying the lotion, letting them dry and polishing them with walnut-colored polish at least twice a month. This will most definitely keep them looking spectacular. At the very least, if you don't mind the shoes looking dull, remember to apply the leather lotion once a week if the shoes are often used to ensure the leather doesn't crack. My only caveat with these shoes is that they're at the degree in quality and price point where they should be recraftable. To be honest, the rubber bottoms of my shoes are going to wear out eventually, meanwhile the leather is going to still look relatively new.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable I wear 65 last size 8D. Had to order these shoes in 8E due to the 2592 last being narrower. Pinky toes slightly rub. No problem on heels, no blistering. Wore all day barefooted. Very comfortable. These are my go to shoes for errands, festivals, casual wear.

Any lacing offred other than rawhide? I find that rawhide slips.

I soaked my laces for an hour or so. Then I relaced the shoe with the strings and tied them to my fit. It worked great and they are essentially loafers now.
