Overview

The British invasion that swept across the country 50 years ago brought with it more than just some of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time. It also brought a style never before seen on this side of the pond. It started with long hair and worked its way down to the boots. The Chelsea boot, an ankle-high boot with an elastic side panel that dates back to the Victorian era became a fashion icon in the swinging London of the 1960s. Our Liverpool honors that tradition with a sleek boot made of a single piece of leather that took our pattern makers two years to perfect. The result is a cool comfortable boot that fits like a glove. The sleek versatile boot can be worn with a suit or jeans and looks at home in the office or on the town.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

We recommend using our Allen Edmonds Spray Waterproofer when caring for this style. Make sure the surface area is clean and dry. Spray evenly from a distance of 6 - 8 inches and allow to air dry before wear. Allen Edmonds Spray Waterproofer will not alter color, but it may darken the fabric initially while damp.

Reviews
Liverpool Chelsea Suede Dress Boot is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I have two pairs of this shoes in leather. The fit of the suede boot was different and the suede did not have a uniform appearance. You should have made this shoe in brown leather, not suede. I returned my pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NEED MORE COLORS!! I absolutely love these boots. They fit perfect and quality is amazing. Just one thing, PLEASE ALLEN EDMONDS MAKE MORE COLORS!! A Khaki color boot would sell 100000 times better than the brown color being produced. Just saying.

Ask & Answer

shoe tree size?

In a previous response, it was said that shoe trees are a good idea, but to get some that aren't too tight for these boots? I see that the combination tree was recommended; should I also consider sizing down? My is size is just barely a large in the shoe trees. Should I consider getting a medium for purposes of this boot?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, consider trying a Medium first. If it happens to be too loose, feel free to exchange it for a Large. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Are shoe trees recommended for these boots?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, shoe trees are recommended for all footwear. They absorb excess moisture and help retain the shape of the shoes. On suede styles, the shoe trees should fit easily inside the shoes and we suggest making sure they are not too tight. Combination shoe trees provide more flexibility than Full-Toe. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Sizing Compared to Cornwallis

I saw in another answer that the 943b last is based on the 1943 last. If I wear an 11.5 B in the Cornwallis, should I order the same size in the Liverpool?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, we suggest trying the same size. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Do they run true to size? I ask because i'm going to order them without trying them on.

Asked by: Anonymous
I have two pairs in leather. They are great. I bought the suede shoe in the same size and the fit was different. It was a little tighter and I did not keep them. I would recommend getting the black or walnut in leather and not the suede.

What type of suede is used for this boot?

Asked by: Anonymous
It's a suede that is infused with oil to achieve the rich look, and as such will have some water resistant properties. We do however suggest same care as with any other suede style and using our water protector periodically. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

I have EEE wide feet, is this boot more suited for narrow or wide feet? I do realize it comes in EEE.

Asked by: Anonymous
I have EEE feet as well, and these boots fit perfectly. Very, very comfortable.

Should the suede have a slightly darker streak, a one inch wide streak, from the top front of the boot running down 2/3's on the boot?

Asked by: Anonymous
Mine did and I did not like them for that reason so I returned them. The leather versions are great.

How do these fit compared to the Park Ave?

Asked by: Anonymous
The Liverpool style is constructed on the 943B Last. The 943B Last is the same look, feel, and fit as the 1943 Last which has a soft square toe shape with a sculpted, longer forepart and higher cone than the traditional timeless classic. The difference is the raised cone to accommodate higher boot heights. The 65 last is used for the Park Avenue and it is our most popular last from the traditional classic fitting lasts. It's the longest in length of all of our lasts; best for a long, narrow foot; and often the best fit for those with high arches. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Single piece of leather?

The description says it's made with a single piece of leather, but it looks like there is a seam on the side, which suggests it's two pieces. Can you clarify?
Asked by: Anonymous
The vamp is made of a single piece of premium leather. We apologize for the miscommunication in the description, it will be updated soon. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
