Overview

Encompassing some of the country's most fashionable ski resorts as well as the rugged peaks lining the Continental Divide, Eagle County, Colorado provides all one could ask of the mountain lifestyle. Just remember, whether you are a local used to the high-altitude or a visitor from the flatlands, this kind of environment calls for a strong and handsome boot like the Eagle County. Thanks to the cap-toe and contrast Harrier wedged sole - red on the black model, white on the tan - this boot is handsome enough to wear in even the most lavish of lodges. But don't sleep on the other elements like the split reverse welt, ankle pull-tabs, and speed hooks, which speak to the Eagle County's rugged work boot lineage. A marriage of flair and function, these boots will have you soaring even if your feet don't leave the ground.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for this type of leather, use Allen Edmonds Conditioner Cleaner to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great boot, poor sole quality This is my 6th pair of AE and my first AE boot. I have had the boot for about 1.5 years now. It remains my favorite looking boot and is very comfortable. The problem is the sole delaminates about every 5-7 months. I use them daily but still dont feel this should be happening. For a boot made by AE and for this price it should not be happening over and over. I almost exclusively ware AE for dress shoes and have never had that happen so its a bit surprising. I hope AE will be willing to replace the sole for me. March 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent All Purpose Boots I've own my copy for about a little over year now. I went to a few hiking and ski trips and lots of urban walking. They are sturdy, isolate well so it keeps you warm, the sole is very comfortable. It's non slip and just like the upper shoe, it holds up really well. it requires very minimal cleaning and care. I wipe the dirt of and apply saddle soap or boot oil as needed and that's pretty much it. It runs a little long and narrow. You should go for it. January 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value for a casual boot This boot breaks in very easy with full arch support. I walk a lot with these boots and my feet don't feel fatigued. This Eagle County is well constructed and bought 2 pair in black and the Tan. December 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent comfort for a guy with bad knees! I am a long time AE customer with over a dozen pair of their shoes/boots and these are the most comfortable product that I have ever put on my feet! I just wore them all day yesterday in frigid weather standing at a football game, for several hours, on concrete! Normally I would experience pain in my feet and knees under those conditions but I did not with the boots. I am disappointed to read this style is being discontinued. I am hopeful that AE will come out with a similar boot that wears the same. December 8, 2013

Answer:
Allen Edmonds boots generally weigh between 4 and 5 lbs. Shoe weight will vary depending on the materials, components, and size and width of a shoe; however, these variations will be fairly insignificant.

A boot should be easy to put on and take off. I do not like the idea of having to bend over to thread the eyelet every time I wish to put on or take off the boot. You state that the boot is not waterproof. Why not spray it with a silicon spray to make it an all weather boot?

Answer:
Just don't use the top islet of the boot! In all the boots I have, I've never used the very top islet for several reason but the main one being comfort. If you use the top islet, be careful not to tie it tight (like ice sets) or it might cause discomfort by cutting off. Circulation to your feet in all boots. I learned this while in paratrooper school and it made a Hugh difference to my feet comfort. I own 17 pair of A&E shoes. Four are boots. I've been a very satisfied customer since 1973 with my first pair.

Answer:
Allen Edmonds shoes are designed to be worn as dress or fashion footwear in relatively controlled environments. We use genuine leather in all of our shoes which is a naturally porous material that needs to breath to prolong its longevity and retain its durability. Using silicon based waterproofing products on fine leather can clog the pores of the leather which will damage and affect the quality of the leather. We recommend SWIMS overshoes to protect your investments if you expect rainy or snowy conditions.

Please know we do appreciate your feedback on the eyestay design of the Eagle County boot and will take it into consideration for our future product development and offering. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team if you would like to place a custom order for this boot to have a speed hook at the top. Out team can be contacted at eservice@allenedmonds.com or 1-877-817-7615 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-8PM CST).

Hello,

Love my Eagle County boots but was wondering if there is a way to make the sole more white again?

Secondly I have been using walnut polish and then conditioner/leather lotion with good results but just wondering if there is any other products I might use.

Thanks!

Answer:
When caring for this style, we only recommend using the Conditioner Cleaner since the leather is not meant to have a polished look. However, the use of care products is dependent upon each customer's desired result so you can continue to use the Walnut polish to help retain the color of the leather if that's what you prefer.

The best way to clean the rubber sole is by simply using a lightly damp cloth and gently cleaning the sole with soapy water. It is important to exercise caution to avoid saturating the leather upper with the soapy water.

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

If you are having trouble finding a size, you can contact our online customer service team at eservice@allenedmonds.com or 1-877-817-7615 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-8PM CST) to help locate your size in one of our retail locations.

Depending on your foot shape and preferred fit, typically we recommend ordering one full size up. The best way to get a proper fit though is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

At Allen Edmonds, we manufacture shoes with two types of insoles, our traditional leather foot bed and our Handsewn styles. For our traditional leather foot bed, like that used for the Eagle County style, we apply a layer of shock-absorbent cork between the insole and the outsole of our shoes which allows the sole to form an imprint in the cork over time, which acts as a comfortable cradle for your whole foot. The resulting imprint is totally unique to your foot shape and is part of the reason our shoes are so comfortable. Our Handsewn styles feature a sock liner in the foot bed of the shoe.

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The majority of Allen Edmonds shoes are made to order, meaning they are manufactured after the order for a specific size and width has been placed. Depending on the style of shoe and leather needed, we also will finish manufacturing certain closeout styles once an order has been placed.

If you are having trouble finding a size that has already been manufactured, you can contact our customer service center at cacmail@allenedmonds.com or 1-800-235-2348 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-6PM CST) to help search for your size in one of our retail locations.
