Overview

Our popular Dalton is the seed from which the Long Branch grew and if you look closely you can tell it didn't fall far from the tree. The Long Branch shares the round toe of the 511 last and similar brogueing and wing tip blucher styling of its forefather. But where the Dalton is designed to be more elegant, one look at the Long Branch's bigger perfs, split-reverse welt and Vibram rubber lug sole tells you it is crafted to be hardier footwear. A true boot in every sense of the word, we've even given the Long Branch four exposed eyelets to go with three speed hooks as an ode to its work boot brethren. Recraftable and sold with two pairs of laces to suit your mood, we are sure you will grow to love the Long Branch as much as we have.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

These types of leathers can be cleaned using a damp cloth to remove dirt and any residue. Follow by using a soft cloth to apply Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion, which has been specifically formulated for these leathers or our Allen Edmonds Saddle Soap which cleans all smooth leather shoes while restoring the leather's natural oils.

Reviews
Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 184 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent comfortable and stylish boot I purchased these boots true to size. They were at initial inspection very high quality, beautiful leather. An inadvertent weather change required me to wear these day one instead of open toed flip flops on a three day trip to Disney's parks with my children. After 22 hours of continuous walking and standing in line, the boots proved to be incredibly comfortable and functional. This is my second pair of Allen Edmonds shoes but definitely not the last. I am very impressed, thank you Allen Edmonds. January 3, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boots but picture is misleading A pair in brown calf was my first pair of AE boots. Love them - they are extremely comfortable with no break-in period. My only complaints are (1) the color of the leather is quite a bit darker than shown in the picture, and (2) the top of the welt is not the nice brown shown in the pic but a very dark brown. Overall, very very happy with them! December 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by What leather! Quality boot! My boots came and I have to say that they were better than expected. Soft. Wrapped with class. Soft. And comfortable from the first I put them on. I returned a similar style that I ordered from Timberland that were 150.00 less expensive but they hurt my feet. These? Not so! You get what you pay for with this company. Good job and I see why you are still in business. December 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A comfortable, sturdy boot with all the style you can ask for This boot is extremely comfortable to wear and it looks fantastic...especially with jeans (I bought the golden brown leather boot). Very easy to lace-up quickly. My favorite purchase so far from Allen Edmonds...and I have purchased a lot! December 11, 2015

It appears from the pictures of the product that the cromexcell version of the long branch have a thicker vibram sole than that of the dark brown color. Is this a mistake or an option for each color?

Answer:
We use the same soles for Long Branch styles, but it may appear that the soles are different thicknesses due to the color of the welt or the way the picture was taken. The Golden Brown version has a dark brown welt, and the Dark Brown has a lighter color welt.

Yes, that's the Long Branch style, thank you for your question! It's the Golden Brown Chromexcel leather, but they may look darker due to the creative lighting and adjustments used by the photographer.

Yes, CXL leather is better for wet weather than calf; however, no leather is truly water repellent. For my CXL shoes I use CXL cream from Saphir and have been highly impressed.

Answer:
Horween’s Chromexcel leather is heavily oiled during the tanning process which consequently provides good water resistance. However, while Chromexcel leather will tolerate splashes of water, keep in mind that the boot is not consider to be waterproof and it is still susceptible to water or salt damage like any other fine leather shoe. For added protection, we suggest using SWIMS overshoes if you expect inclement weather conditions.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The Long Branch is considered an above-the-ankle boot style. Shoe and heel height will vary depending on the size and width of a shoe; however, these variations will be fairly insignificant.

For the Long Branch in a size 9 D, the shoe height from the bottom of the sole to the top of the upper will measure to be around 7-3/4 inches tall.

I would say yes; however, they are very nice boots and I would not spend this kind of money to get them too dirty. That's what they sell cheap boots for. These boots would be fantastic for tailgating :)

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The Long Branch style features a rubber sole which is built to handle a number of climates, landscapes, and weather conditions. However, keep in mind that the upper is made of fine leather which is a natural material and so it is not considered to be waterproof.

Our shoes are indented for use for style and comfort in relatively controlled environments. To provide an added layer of protection against dirt, snow, or water, we offer waterproof premium Swims Mobster Overshoes which allow you to wear your favorite boots regardless of weather conditions.

I have a pair of Ashbury Chelsea boots. 11D that fit well. Should I order the same size in the Long Branch Wingtip?

Also what are your thoughts on URAD on your shoes/boots?

Answer:
I used their template and it worked. My usual buy is 11 EEE only because that's what's most often offered in stores. Their template indicated that I should order 11 E. I went by that and they fit better than any shoe or boot I have ever owned. I know the last makes the difference, but with no other option, I'd use the template.

Answer:
We cannot speak to other brands of care products because we are not familiar with their ingredients and how they may affect our fine leathers. Many other care products contain an alcohol or petroleum base, which will dry out the leather and make it brittle over time – even with regular conditioning. We recommend using our shoe care products which we are specifically formulated for our fine leather footwear.

The Long Branch and the Ashbury are constructed on different lasts so each style will fit differently based on individual foot shape. The Long Branch Wingtip Boot is built on our 511 Last which is fit for the average foot from heel to ball of foot, and it has a rounded, roomier toe. The Ashbury boot is constructed on the 222 last which has an elongated toe with a slightly higher instep and a more narrow fit in the forefoot creating a sleek silhouette and rounded European look.

The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores or retail partners in Canada. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

Is this boot available in black chromexel leather? That would make it the perfect casual boot.
I had a pair of A&E shoes in grain or cobblestone texture leather and it is not as comfortable as smooth leather.
If it is not available in black chromexel, do you plan on offering it in the future?

Answer:
The Long Branch style is handcrafted using traditional leather foot bed, in which we apply a layer of shock-absorbent cork between the insole and the outsole of our shoes which allows the sole to form an imprint in the cork over time. We do not build an excessive amount of arch support in our shoes because the cork layer acts as a comfortable cradle for your whole foot and the resulting imprint is totally unique to your foot shape and is part of the reason our shoes are so comfortable. In addition to the cork layer, this style also features a heel with comfort foam insole for added comfort.

If you wear custom orthotics, we suggest visiting a master fitter at one of our retail stores so they can help you find the proper size, as inserting an orthotic will affect how a shoe fits.
