Overview
Some of the best of the best get to walk the hallowed halls of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and we've honored this historic academic town by giving one of our choicest models its name. Everything about this shoe is first-class, starting with its shell Cordovan leather exterior. The finest leather available, this material is not only soft and durable, it's certain to only look better with time. Playing off the richness of the leather, the full brogue style on this six-eyelet balmoral, which includes perfing on the wingtip, upper, eyestay and backstay and a classic medallion on the toe, conveys an air of gravitas in even the most stately of situations. Elegantly executed on the 5-Last, this shoe's Reddenbach double oak leather sole and a combination dovetail toplift add the final stunning touches to the Cambridge, an Allen Edmonds shoe for those that have already made it to the top of their class or are pushing to graduate to the next level.
Allen Edmonds Shoe Care
Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its different properties. To remove any natural oils or residue in areas where the shoe flexes, and to maintain the leather's quality, simply brush the leather with a horsehair shine brush or wipe with a cotton flannel polishing cloth. Polish occasionally with Allen Edmonds Cordovan Care Cream to protect the leather and maintain its rich color.
This shoe style is manufactured with Genuine Horween® Shell Cordovan. Click here to watch a video about the special care that goes into making Shell Cordovan, and learn about the long relationship between Allen Edmonds and Horween.

Have you done any studies to see how long calf skins last vs Cordovan, given equal care?
Thanks!
From a wear standpoint, when properly cared for, Cordovan shoes should outlast a calfskin primarily due to the oils embedded into the shell during the tanning process which help keep the leather from drying, becoming brittle, or crack over time.

Prices vary based on many factors, including but not limited to design, manufacturing, construction, and type of leather. The main difference between Calfskin styles and Cordovan styles is the source of the leather. The Cambridge is made with Genuine Shell Cordovan which is a rare kind of leather from the hind quarter of a horse, while Calfskin is from a calf. There are a number of benefits from selecting a shoe manufactured in Genuine Shell Cordovan leather; the most important is the durability and longevity of the leather upper. Cordovan is thicker and does not have the tendency to crack or tear as the shoe ages, but actually betters with age and wear.

The Macneil and the Grayson are manufactured on our 7-Last (97) which is the best fit for the average foot and lays flatter in the toe area. The Leeds is manufactured on our 1-Last (511) which is similar to the 7-Last from heel to ball of the foot, but with a more rounded, fuller fitting toe. The Cordovan Cambridge is constructed on our 5-Last (65) which is the longest in length of our lasts and fits best on a long, narrow foot. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit.
Typically the same size can be ordered in all of our shoes. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape. The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

We do not offer the Cambridge in an 11.5 2A on the website.
We do have a custom program that offers a Customer to purchase a pair of shoes in a size that is not offered online. There is an upcharge and the shoes would be non-returnable. Please contact our Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-235-2348 and they can assist you with information and an order.

The park Avenue and the Cambridge are both manufactured on the number 5 last. Both shoes will have the same fit so you would take the same size in both shoes.
When you receive the footwear, just make sure that you try the shoes on a carpet surface. Thay way if they do not fit they would be returnable.
Feel free to contact us with any further questions.
is it OK that I'll choose the same size of Park Ave.?
By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit. The Cambridge and Park Avenue are constructed on the same (5-65) Last, but fit is often a matter of personal preference so trying the shoes on is the best way to differentiate between two similar shaped shoes such as these.
