Overview

From the tolling of the bells that open and close a day of trading at the nexus of LaSalle and Jackson Streets, the action on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade never ever stops. Cleverness and great instincts are requirements to be effective in the pit, but success also requires the nimble footwork that only a pair of comfortable shoes like the LaSalle, with their padded, leather wrapped comfort insoles, can provide. Don't worry if you have to go from trading to the office and then to a client dinner at Gibson's Steakhouse in the Gold Coast, because thanks to the traditional Algonquin toe and raised stitching detail in the heel, with this blucher you won't be sacrificing any style for comfort. And that's a promise you can take to the bank.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Conditioner Cleaner to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by A quality well fitting shoe I could not get my size (11 1/2 B at the large shoe store which stocks allenedmonds. Narrow widths are a problem for those of us with longer narrow feet. I went on line and called the factory and I had my shoes in less than a week. I am very happy.j August 9, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed so soon after purchase These shoes are some of the most beautiful, rich calfskin leather I have seen. They are very comfortable, and I was very much looking forward to the AE quality and what the brand stands for. I wore the shoes twice, and immediately put in the AE shoe trees after wear. The last time I wore them was 10 days ago and today I took them out of the AE storage bag and noticed that both shoes have several creases on the outside near the rear of the shoe. I cannot understand what would cause this, as I wore them in very light wear, did not get them wet at all, and immediately stored in trees and bag. I am very disappointed, as these are my first pair of AE and I was expecting much more from this brand. I take care of all of my shoes, and have never had this type of issue with leather dress shoes in the past. I just conditioned and polished them using AE products, but that doesn't seem to have helped at all. July 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by HIGH QUALITY - BUT DO SOME RESEARCH ON THE LASTS Hi all, If you are here you are a step above the rest already. You take pride in everything you do and have figured out wasting $120 every 9 months on typical dress shoes is a huge waste and you never really feel good in your shoes. My first pair of AE are these LaSalles. I tried them on at Nordstrom and out of the selection they had these appealed to me the most aesthetically. The 108 last they are built upon is slightly narrow. That said, I typically wear a D width and have always been fine. These after several wearings were quite tight in width, perfect in length (size 10 here) and they weren't really going to stretch anymore so it came down to returning them or having them stretched. I paid a few bucks to have them stretched and while they aren't as tight as previously, I don't think I am getting a proper fit to be honest. Overall though, as my rating suggests I am still very, very happy with them. My next pair will be something in D width with a last made more traditionally or E width in the same last. Thanks AE for providing us with an alternative which is miles better than the average shoe! Customer for life! June 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great looking shoes, get compliments all the time. I have a pair of chili lasalles in 10.5D. The break-in period was unusually long, keeping in mind that I did not use to wear them all that often at first. They can make my feet a bit sore after a day of wearing, especially if I am walking a lot. I discovered that this is because they are made with a last that is not the ideal shape for my somewhat wide feet. I recently completed my collection with a pair of Bleecker Streets and the problem has not repeated with those as the 65 last is much more adapted to my foot morphology. With all that said they are stunning-looking shoes and they get compliments all the time. The leather is holding up surprisingly given the amount of abuse I have given them (walked in rain or snow multiple time, without cleaning the stains as soon as they were dry). I just received them from their first recrafting and they look as good as new, but with their slightly worn look, it makes them absolutely unique. If you want them, you won't regret it, just make sure that this last matches the morphology of your foot. March 28, 2015

Answer:
Allen Edmonds shoes are handcrafted using leather which is a naturally breathable material; we recommend any of our styles that are made of 100% leather uppers and leather soles, as opposed to rubber soles. You can search by these styles by clicking the 'SHOES' link and then choosing 'Leather Sole Shoes' under the 'Soles' filter on the left-hand side of the page. Some great examples include the Park Avenue, the Strand, or the Carlyle.

The Lasalle is a longer, narrower shape than the Hancock, so I'm wondering if I would need an "E" Width on the Lasalle vs the "D" Width on the Hancock?

Answer:
The LaSalle is constructed on the 108 last which has an elongated forepart with a tapered and flatter toe. The Hancock has a different fit because it was constructed on the 97 which is the best fit for the average foot and it has a soft, slightly pointed toe. By selecting shoes manufactured on the last that most resembles the contours of your feet, you will achieve a superior fit, only enhancing the comfort of your shoes.

The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoe in returnable condition.

Yes, the LaSalle and the Clifton are both constructed on the same 108 last, so as a result these two styles will feature a similar fit.

Answer:
The LaSalle style is manufactured on our 8-Last (108) which features an elongated forepart with a tapered and flatter toe. It is similar to the 222 last with a longer, narrower fit and a rounded toe. By selecting shoes manufactured on the same last that most resembles the contours of one’s feet, customers will achieve a superior fit. However, each style can fit differently based on individual foot shape.

The best way to get a proper fit is to visit a master fitter in one of our retail stores. If this is not possible, keep in mind that products purchased on allenedmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip. LaSalle Dress Shoes

Almost satisfied customer
Washington, D.C.
I recently bought two pairs of this shoe. One of the pairs creaks very loudly - it seems (I'm not completely sure) that the tongue's friction against the leather it fits under causes the sound. The other pair is fine.

I thought the creaking would go away as the shoes got broken in. After a couple of weeks, however, the shoes are more comfortable, but the creaking is as loud as ever.

I have to consider this problem a defect, especially since my job involves lots of quiet meetings where the mere shifting of my feet in these shoes causes a lot of distraction.

Can the problem be fixed? Can I exchange the defective pair, even though I've worn them quite a bit in the last two or three weeks?

Thank you for your interest in Allen Edmonds.

The “squeaking” noise in a premium leather shoe is normally caused by two types of leather in the shoe’s construction rubbing together. For example, the outer leather on top of the LaSalle’s tongue rubbing against the leather lining on the underside of the shoe’s eyestays. This noise does not indicate a problem with the construction of the shoe; it is natural for two types of leathers which are layered upon one another to make noise. Applying a talcum powder can help to reduce this.

If you are unhappy with your recent purchase, please feel free to contact our customer service center at cacmail@allenedmonds.com or 1-800-235-2348 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-6PM CST); they can help better identify what issues you are having with this style.

We recommend wearing our Chili Burnished Calf styles like you would normally wear a solid tone brown or tan shoe. It can be paired with a brown suit, light gray, navy, or jeans. What’s great about our Chili Burnished Calf is it can give even the most formal of shoes a more casual look.

Ultimately, what each individual chooses is their own decision; we encourage customers to purchase and wear what they feel most comfortable in.

LaSalle Dress Shoes

Los Angeles, CA
Hello,

I purchased my first pair of LaSalle size 7.5D. I was very excited to wear my new shoes but after a long day my feet hurt. I feel like the front part of the shoe is narrower and that could be why me feet hurt. I would like to replace these with a new pair but I am afraid I will have the same problem. Does other models such as: Hancock, Clifton, Delray, and 5th Avenue use the same sole (dimension/width) on the front part of the shoe?

Thank you.

Just bought a pair of Lasalle's in the chili color, and really love them so far. However, one of the unique points of style for this shoe are the sole edges. How does one properly care for this surface and retain this unique appearance?

Answer:
Good: Neutral shoe polish
Better: Leather conditioner and neutral shoe polish
Best: Occasional leather conditioner and Natural Edge Dressing

If they take a bad scrape, I'd use a little chili or lighter polish to fill in the color then treat with the edge dressing.
