Overview

When describing the first incarnation of the Leeds we called on Leonardo da Vinci's famous quotation: "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." Those words still capture the essence of this shoe, which is at once aesthetically pleasing while also being inherently straightforward. In this updated version we've retained the handsome plain toe and blucher vamp but lifted them to create a more balanced, sharper silhouette that highlights the intricate arch saddle stitch. It just so happens that by doing so we’ve given you more room up front to add even more comfort to the great fit you've come to expect from the rounded, fuller toe of the 511 last. Still available in favorites black and walnut calfskin, as well as the rich and lustrous Oxblood, the Leeds' traditional look blends perfectly with any outfit, from a suit to khakis and even jeans. Throw in the comfort and durability that comes from the addition of the Double Butyl outsole and Poron insole you've got a fashionable, foot-friendly design that an Old Master would still be proud to wear.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a very stable shoe. It's like wearing footballs! These shoes look like American footballs and appear to be made of the same leather. The first impression when putting them on was that they would be very stiff. There is no rolling the foot from one side to the other and they reminded me of my old class A uniform shoes in the army. Then the similarity ended when I walked. These shoes felt soft and there was no more pressure on one part of the foot than on another. They squeaked a little bit for a while. One thing that I noticed was that the sole goes from leather to rubber and the leather looks like dark wood. So the sole doesn't look or feel like a cheap rubber sole. I have a pair of A.E. with natural rubber soles and was wondering how these would compare. The natural rubber is very soft and quiet and is wearing out quicker than a harder rubber sole as one would expect. These are much harder rubber and they sound and feel almost like leather soles. They appear to be quite durable. The good: Comfortable while being very stable. These shoes are solid and wide and don't allow the foot to roll from side to side. After wearing them and walking quite a long distance in them I feel that I have gotten what I paid for. The bad: The dye was not very even and a large part of the right shoe quickly lost its dark color and became much lighter. It looked like a worn football. This can be corrected for the most part by using their shoe cream that has a lot of dye in it but it takes extra work to get the color even and is disappointing. These are not hot weather shoes. These are heavier and hotter than something like a pair of wingtips. Walking long distances out in the heat is okay but they make my feet sweat like a pair of work boots. June 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Versatile. Comfortable. Classic. The Dundee 2.0 Derby with Dainite is an outstanding shoe for many occasions. This brown pebble grain version provides the ultimate stylish experience both for dress or casual use. Not only can the shoe show a dressy side with slacks and suits, in can come back the next day and pair with khakis or jeans. The coloring is just right for any shade of pant short of black, and provides a very comfortable ride thanks to the unique use of the poron padded insole. This small touch provides exceptional comfort for the slightly stiff dainite sole. However, the use of dainite in this classic design allows for great versatility in wet weather, snow and cold. It is great to have one pair of kicks which will handle any situation, any time, anywhere. Certainly, the Dundee 2.0 begs consideration and can provide years of service with the sleek rubber sole option. Finally, the fit is true to #1 last standards, providing a nice full feel with roomy toe box. A fine investment with great value and timeless design. More than recommended. June 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Fantastic shoes. Able to dress them up or down for casual. Also very comfortable so tough to beat. I got the brown pebble grain as my first dainite soled shoes and very happy with them. April 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Extremely Comfortable, Beautifully Simple Dress Shoe While on a business trip to NY, I purchased the Oxblood Leeds 2.0 from Stan in mid-town Manhattan. In addition to enjoying his usual outstanding service, I am extremely pleased with the shoes. The new soft insole is incredibly comfortable, leather quality and finish patina are great, and the shoes have an elegant simplicity & solidity that drew compliments at the office the first time I wore them. Very satisfied, and highly recommended! March 9, 2016

Answer:
Dark brow in the can or dark brow premium are both good but mine have developed lighter brown areas that require dark brown shoe cream to correct. The premium polish is a polish shoe cream blend but it still requires the cream to get the color evened out. I clean them and then use the cream and finish up with polish.

There is either a brown or chili section (the welt?) above the Dainite soles, as well a section of the heel.

Answer:
Due to the special inks, dyes and leather sole combinations used by the cobblers during the finishing process, the edge of the sole tends to be quite unique when the shoe leaves the factory. The Heel and Sole Edge Dressing we offer will provide as close of a match as possible but most may not be able to achieve a factory finish at home as this product is intended for quick touch ups.

The Neutral dressing does not contain any pigment, but will still minimize the appearance of scuffs, the Chili will add a reddish brown tone to the edge of the sole, and the Brown will simply add a brown tone. In fact, either product, or a combination of them, can be used on the Leeds 2.0, but the color you choose will depend upon your desired result. We suggest trying the Brown dressing to complement the Brown leather styles.

Answer:
No. The insoles are not removable in these shoes. But they are not stitched in either. You might be able to cut them out without much trouble but it could also be an expensive experiment. Good luck.

Answer:
No, orthotics may cause the fit to be tight.

Answer:
The Leeds 2.0 was not designed with an orthotic fit in mind and so it does not feature a removable insole. The styles that feature removable insoles are only those that are part of the Orthotic Collection, Jack Nicklaus Collection, and the new Road Warrior Collection.

However, if the shoe is fit large enough, orthotic inserts can be used in almost any of our shoes. It is important to keep in mind that the use of an orthotic will alter the way a shoe fits; we recommend trying on your orthotics with the shoes or visiting one of our master fitters at our retail stores as they can recommend the best possible fit.
