Overview

Transformation is good. Take the town of Nashua, New Hampshire, which almost disappeared off the map with the loss of its factories during the 1950s. But instead of giving up the town reinvented itself as a high-tech hub to become a two-time honoree as the best place to live in the United States. That kind of makeover reminds us of the style of this shoe, which takes the classic kiltie golf shoe design and revamps it into a casual moccasin. Originally, the kiltie was placed over the laces of golf spikes to keep out debris. Here, the kiltie not only adds just the right amount of sophistication but also acts as the perfect palate to allow the brown leather trim and tassels to play off the shoe's black or brown pebble grain body. By pairing this two-tone look with the slightly shorter vamp representative of the 114-Last and a tough Hamlet rubber outsole, we've also made this loafer more comfortable and rugged than ever. Among our most popular choice from the Casual Collection, the Nashua is sure to breathe new life into any man's wardrobe.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Nashua Tassel Loafers is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 300.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable shoe I've ever owned Not quite as stylish as my previous all leather A/E but the comfort outweighs the more casual look. Owning a large restaurant I'm on my feet constantly. My new shoes gave me instant relief and the comfort is all night long. I no longer take my shoes off the minute I get home!

Ask & Answer

Is it normal for my heels to get cut up when I wear these loafers bare foot?

When I wear these loafers, my heels get cut up because My heel slips and catches the back of the shoe.
Asked by: Bsullivan
What you describe is most often caused by an improper fit. You'll find the most comfort by choosing styles in the last, size, and width combination that most resemble the contours of your feet. Please call the customer service team directly at 1-877-817-7615 for assistance with the fit of your shoes.

Do you make any waterproof shoes?

Asked by: Bill
We do not make weather-proof or water-proof footwear. Allen Edmonds shoes are meant to be worn as dress or fashion footwear in mostly controlled environments. Fine leather is susceptible to water and salt damage because it is a natural material; as such, we advise proper care if expecting snowy or wet conditions. To provide an added layer of protection against dirt, snow, or water, we offer premium Swims Overshoes which allow you to wear your favorite shoes regardless of weather conditions. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

what will make this shoe stop squeaking

squeaks
Asked by: deano
Thank you for your inquiry. Squeaking sometimes occurs on new shoes because Allen Edmonds uses authentic leathers such as calf skin. When two pieces of new leather rub against each other, such as the leather lining, upper leather and /or tongue leathers, a slight squeaking may occur. The fix is usually quite simple; general wear will eliminate the noise or you can apply leather lotion as a lubricant. Lotion can be found at AllenEdmonds.com, most shoe shine stands or simply visit an Allen Edmonds store and have a store associate apply the lotion for you. Importantly, if you have any further concerns, please contact our online customer service team directly at eservice@allenedmonds.com or 1-877-817-7615 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-8PM CST). We would be happy to assist you.

Are these a "True To Fit " shoe or do they run small?

Asked by: Anonymous
They are a true fit. I can't use shoes that run small. These fit perfectly right out of the box.

Hamlet vs. Othello sole?

Is there a difference between these two soles other than the pattern? For instance, is one denser than the other?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Othello rubber sole is a much softer casual lug sole, and provides more cushioned comfort. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

what is the proper shoe polish/cream for the tan Nashua loafer

Asked by: marty
The proper care depends on the Nashua style you own. For the Black/Brown Nashua we recommend Black and Dark brown polish respectively to help maintain the color of the leather. For the Brown/Brown Nashua we recommend Dark Brown polish on the darker leather and Leather Lotion on the lighter brown leather. Finally, for the English Tan Nashua we recommend using only the Leather Lotion to prevent staining the contrast stitching. It is important to exercise caution on the two-tone styles to prevent cross-contamination of polish between the leathers. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

can this shoe be made wider--I now need a 4e

Asked by: ws4e
The widths of Allen Edmonds shoes range from AAA which is the narrowest width, to EEE which the widest width. At this time we do not offer or make shoes wider than a EEE. We recommend checking out styles constructed on lasts that are roomier across the ball of the foot, such as the 606 last (Patriot loafer) or the 800 Handsewn last (Kenwood loafer). We also highly recommend visiting a master fitter at one of our retail stores as they will be able to better guide you in finding styles that will best fit the contours of your feet. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

What is correct sizing?

I would consider buying this shoe on sale. I usually take AE 9.5B. But for Wilburt, a 10B was suggested by you given the last, and it works we'll for me. What would you suggest for the Nashua? Thanks.
Asked by: GM
I bought a 13B and it fit a little tight in the toe box but is loosening up with additional wear and I think it will fit well after break in.
