Details & Overview

Grantham Dress Plain-toe Blucher

This shoe is a limited time offer. Limited quantities, sold while supplies last.

Our Grantham was created as a reminder of the days when leading men dressed in tails for dinner every night. Although it has a more modern appeal and a sleek profile, this dress shoe would look at home worn by the lord of the manor. The plain-toe blucher features a lined calfskin upper, leather insole and single oak leather sole.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Grantham Dress Plain-toe Blucher is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile The Grantham is a very specific looking dress shoe, in my opinion. It's not normal business casual the way a derby or a wingtip are. Instead, the Grantham is nearly wholecut, with the leather being one seamless piece from the plain toe all the way down the sides to the back. It's only interrupted by the true blucher lacing, where the eyelet facings sit on top of the shoe. In principle, that's a dressy shoe, but on the other hand, the chisel toe design is almost square-toed. The Grantham is a good dress shoe, and in my opinion, it is chisel-toed, not square. But it's also wonderfully versatile. In black, it's fine with a suit. But in tan and oxblood, the Grantham becomes a perfect complement to jeans and a polo shirt. For an almost-square-toe, it's a smidge tight. Even in my size 9EEE, my big toes feel a smidgen tight sideways, and the shoe feels narrow at the ball of my foot. My right shoe is creasing more than I'd like, but creases are okay in the end. I'm expecting the break in period to smooth out the issues a bit. On the other hand, the blucher lacing opens the shoe very wide and makes getting in and out a breeze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what hoping for. I've been hoping AE would come out with a style like this. I love them, just gorgeous in walnut (10 3E). Casual dressy. Great with jeans or a suit. Modern but classy. The right and left leathers clearly not from the same batch and don't quite match, but close enough. Perhaps this last is a bit narrow for me. (I may get them stretched.) While not as comfortable for me as most AE shoes, I will nevertheless get a lot of wear out of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking shoe, chiseled toe similar to bespoke style Great looking shoe for dress or business casual. I purchased this shoe due to traveling and the need of a shoe for business meeting and business casual after hours. These shoes fill that need, I have worn with tailored suits, then khakis later for dinner. I have worn these shoes up 10-14 hours, plus many compliments.

The Grantham is a clearance/closeout style and therefore not eligible for custom orders. However, it is eligible for Recrafting and you can request a sole conversion with the Standard Package once the sole is worn and needs to be replaced. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

1943 last to discontinued 333 last

How close is this (1943) last to the discontinued 333 last, which I loved? Specifically the Grantham profile to the Hanover profile? Thank you,
Asked by: Mickey1
Thank you for your inquiry. The 1943 last is a derivative of our established 333 last. We held the heel of the 333, reduced the toe length and widened the fit across the ball of the foot for a traditional aesthetic tying back to our iconic dress lasts. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
