Great expereince with Recrafting - Sandy
Sandy in the AE Recrafting group called to tell me that the Hilcrest that I had sent for recrafting had reached the end of their lives and could not be recrafted. I spoke with her a couple times while deciding what to do. She was so pleasant and helpful. I have been an AE only Dress Shoe devote for over 15 years. The AE shoes are great but Sandy reminded me how great the AE people have been along the way too. Please take time to recognize her for the excellent customer service she provided.

Superior Customer Service in Philadelphia
I would like to commend my AE representative Kyle. I am very impressed with his attention to detail. I waited for a long time to purchase my Strand Collection Briefcase. When I finally did, I purchased it over the phone from the Philadelphia location. Kyle insured that I received my bag in one day and then added a nice thank you card and a complimentary bottle of leather cleaner. It's rare in todays markets to find such exemplary service, so I just wanted to thank him publicly.

New Line of Work, New Shoe
I'll begin by saying that regardless of age if you don't own a pair of Allen Edmonds you're doing yourself a disservice.
I mentioned to a friend off hand that the military formality of my current dress shoes (black high gloss oxfords) would not work for my new job. He then led me to Allen Edmonds and I explained to the employee there I wanted a shoe that would work well across the spectrum of my clothes (suits, khakis, and jeans) and would be very durable considering the amount of use I intended to get out of it. He recommended the Rush Street.
I was hesitant at first because the perforations and toe medallion were not as conservative as I was used to. At my friend's urging that a more stylized shoe would stand out in a positive way I bought them.
These are some serious attention grabbers and always positively. Twice in meetings have the proceedings been stopped for someone to tell me that my shoes look great. I'm no doubt very young considering the likely median age of Allen Edmonds wearers but these shoes create a professional impression that does not appear as extremely formal as the shoes I wore in my previous line of work. I encourage anyone of any age to invest in an Allen Edmond's shoes but especially younger men such as myself looking to make good first impressions in lines of work where not being in your thirties or older can be detrimental. A great shoe is the ultimate compliment to your appearance and performance.

Extraordinary service.
Jason Jones is extraordinarily good at his job.
Mr. Jones is the sales associate who guided me through the purchase of a very nice pair of Edmund Allen shoes, and he did it with a plain and earnest expertise that allayed all my concerns, forestalled any misgivings, and laid the foundation for what I truly expect to be twenty years of satisfaction with these shoes.
I have wistfully browsed the clearance rack at the Allen Edmonds outlet store often before, yet have never made a purchase. Last Saturday, Mr. Jones, a sales associate, found me trying on a pair that mostly fit. He introduced himself, measured my foot, and made a better size recommendation. He was able to target the perfect fit for my arch and instep, such that every shoe he brought me felt exactly right for my feet. Moreover, as he brought me alternative styles. He did it conversationally, as if merely sharing an interest in the details of footwear, and with subtle attentiveness to what I liked.
Mr. Jones exhausted the clearance rack and moved on to standard styles without alarming me. When at last I settled on a pair of McGregors, I inquired about the price. Please keep in mind, three hundred dollars is a lot to spend on a pair of shoes; it is quintuple what I am normally comfortable spending. Mr Jone’s took my concerns seriously, and explained conversationally what three hundred dollars can purchase at Allen Edmonds: hand-made, made in America, first quality materials and construction techniques.
In every industry this is the standard sales pitch in the face of misgivings about price. I knew it was coming and I recognized the pitch when it came. Even so, Mr Jones did not use the pitch to dismiss my concerns. He explained the connection between the construction details, and the options to have them re-crafted when aged and worn out. Mr Jones’ sympathy never stated, but merely implied that my need for less expensive shoes was the perfect reason to purchase a three hundred dollar pair Allen Edmunds shoes.
Mr. Jones ordered felt shoe bags for me when he rang up my shoes, a tacit assurance that I shall be wearing these shoes for many years.
