    Ask & Answer
McAllister Wingtip Oxford with Dainite Rubber Sole is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Brogue Shoe for Business and Causal Wear I am a long-term (30+ years) buyer of Allen Edmonds shoes ... I have usually focused solely on Fifth Avenues. I have recently moved into buyiing wingtips shoes and the McAllister is my latest pair of full brogue shoes since this style is where men's shoe styling has gone. I brought a pair of brown 11.5EEE McAllister shoes with Dainite soles at a reduced price because it appears that AE has either discontinued or suspended this color choice. This shoe was not a clearance or outlet shoe ... just a unicorn that was priced right. The color is nearly the perfect shade of brown. I am comparing this shade of brown to the brown color on the Higgins Mill Boot (#7540), the Srandmok, and the Whitney (with the Whitney being the lowest.) The wingtip brogue design of the McAllister has every possible perforation known to humankind, as well as being thoroughly serrated along all the edges. The ony shoe that I own that comes close to it in terms of the abundance of wings, perforations and serrations are my 25+ year old pair of Florsheim Imperials. The quality is excellent. The shoe has a stylish silhouette. The Dainite sole doesn't make you look like Lurch (re: The Addams Family) and the sole appears to follow similar dimensions to a pair of my 5th Avenues however the Dainite sole appears to be 1/16 of an inch thicker. There is a feeling of heaviness and reduced flexibilty due to the Dainite sole but to me these qualities are acceptable trade offs for improved traction. I haven't worn the shoe long enough to determine break-in time however they don't have the rapid break-in of my AE Rockies Highline boots. The inner lining of the McAllister is soft and supple but not as well finished as the 5th Ave.. The full brogue finish allows this shoe to be worn with jeans, suits and chinos of the appropriate color pairing. The sole is built on the 65 last -- the same one used for the 5th Ave. The workmanship is great and I have no concerns about the quality and I am very picky regarding imperfections and other quality issues. Yes, ... I would buy another pair however my wife is growing increasingly concerned about the size of my shoe collection but she did approve of these McAllisters!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A shoe that fits Love them. I have a very wide foot EEE. This fits and and the quality was what I was looking for. I always bought JM, but not since they shipped their work to China. The quality just wasn’t there for me after that. I kept re-soleing them for the last 10 years, until they wore out and I found AE. I bought 4 pair after Christmas. P

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking I’ve owned several pairs of AES. Usually fit and feel awesome. Build is great too. However the Danite sole is hard uncomfortable and hurts my feet!

Hi, i'm french and i would like To know what is the good size for me (i wear 45-46 here)

    Asked by: Ray Donovan
We recommend referencing the size chart located in the 'Fit' tab in the description. Based on that chart, a size 45 EU typically converts to a size 11 US, and a size 46 to a 12 US. If the size you choose does not work out, keep in mind most products are returnable. What color edge dressing for brown McAllister with dainite sole?l

For the brown McAllister with dainite sole, should I use brown or black edge dressing?
    Asked by: Mike
Hello Mike, I am Deuce 6 and just yesterday I replied to your inquiry about the color of the edge dressing -- it is DARK BROWN -- I mistakenly stated that it was black. I was wearing these shoes in bright sunlight earlier today and noticed that the edging was dark brown. Sorry for the earlier misinformation.
