Wilbert Comfort Shoe is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 526.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST pair of shoes I've ever owned!! I own 6 pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes. They all fit extremely well but the Wilbert stands out as the very best. Super comfortable even when I was in Rome, walking for miles on those cobblestone streets. The fit is superb. My only wish is that they made the Wilbert in a black as well. David San Gabriel, CA

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellence Wilbert's are the perfect everyday shoe. They are not too dressy, but you look put together. They are truly comfortable. The men at the office who wear open-toed shoes would also love these shoes. And they'd have support to boot. You should own one in each color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and good looking for what it is, but like many AE products, the finishing details are defective. Neiter tongue on my pair is well-centered or long enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent shoes. Understated and easy on the feet! I bought two pairs of this shoe (brown and black) to wear on our European vacation. They’re very comfortable, and I look forward to logging many miles with them.

    Still made in USA?

I noticed that the website states these are now "imported". Does this mean the Wilbert is not made in the USA anymore?
    Asked by: AB
Thank you for your interest in the Wilbert shoe. The country of Origin is the Dominican Republic. We hope this helps.

Is this the replacement for the AE Ashton?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Not really. The Ashton has a removable insole and was on the 678 last, not the 511. The leathers are also quite different between the two styles.

What belt and shoe polish do your recommend for the brown Wilbert (1951)?

I was in the Allen Edmund's store in Oak Brook IL, and the store attendant who was extremely helpful and I could not find a belt to match or even blend with the brown Wilbert (1951). Why would you not make belts from the same lot as the shoes? Please advise what belt you recommend? Thank you
    Asked by: JGC3
We would recommend the neutral polish for your brown Wilberts. You may also want to try the Cognac Brogue Street as a coordinating belt.

    dark brown chromexel?

is the dark brown the same horween chromexel leather as the brown Higgins Mill?
    Asked by: Anonymous
That's a really good question. My sense is that only the Higgins Mill Boot (7562) has the chromexcel leather. I think the Wilberts are made from Outland leather. What's the difference? Here's an old question and Customer Service response from approximately April 2014. Taken from the Q & A listing under Wilbert....... Question: "What is the difference between chromexel and outland leathers? I have had several pairs of Wilberts, but I do not know which kind of leather I got. What are the differences? I have found that after using leather lotion and buffing, I put a light tan polish on the shoes for a very nice looking finish." Answer: "While Chromexcel leather and Outland leather are very similar, they are sourced from different tanneries and so the tanning process and finish are different. Chromexcel leather is characterized by its rich pull-up quality and oily effect, whereas Outland leather tends to have a slight waxy finish. Beyond that, they are both very similar in appearance. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions. Allen Edmonds Customer Service 4 years, 7 months ago"
