    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Alpine Lace-to-Toe Boot with Vibram Arctic Grip Rubber Sole is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My First Lace-to-Toe Boots! As the title says these are my first lace-to-toe boots, and I love them. Quality is top-notch, they fit me perfect, the leather used on these is awesome, and with the lace-to-toe design the boots really fit your foot like a glove! I haven't walked on ice with the Artic soles yet, but ever review I've read is they really do work on Ice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 29 of 30 have been terrific but not this pair I am a HUGE AE fan, No kidding, I have probably purchased over 30 pair over the course of my lifetime. That said, this pair is a disappointment for the following reasons: 1) the finish on the shoe, especially the toe, actually began to “flake” as if the the color and finish was sprayed on, 2) it’s a tough shoe to slip on even with a shoe horn without almost completely untying the laces so that your foot can go in, 3) the “tab” on the back of the shoe is decorative at best and should not be used to remove and put on your shoe as the leather tab ripped off shoe, 4) the tread on one of the shoes at the toe has actually separated from the shoe. I bought it from the AE factory seconds store in Port Washington. This pair is not of good quality and I don’t use those words lightly given my affinity to the AE brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from POOR QUALITY While this is a beautiful shoe, it is NOT a quality product befitting the Allen Edmonds name. I wore mine ONE TIME and the sole separated from the upper. This shoe should be discontinued as it is a poor representation of the quality that I have come to expect from AE. I have purchased more than 15 pair of AE shoes in the last 20 years - so you can imagine my disappointment with this shoe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Read carefully all the reports before buying these shoes. I returned 2 pairs. The first one bought on line arrived with one pull tab broken. I pulled the other one in their Costa Mesa AE shop and it broke. They replaced the pair with a new one but this time I tried with the hill (after I read the feedback on this website), and the rubber came off just pulling with one hand. I did this in front of the same shop manager and he was speechless. I am open to try again because the shoes are beautiful if AE wants. Customer service was fantastic, I can only thank them but they have probably lost a long time customer forever.

    QC Issues

I have noticed several of the reviews of this boot mention some pretty serious quality control (QC) issues. I want to buy them (especially during the currect sale), but the mentioned QC issues make me hesitate. Have these issues been addressed? If I experience the same issues after wearing the boot what recourse do I have? Thanks

I liked them so much that I bought them during lockdown, but since have tried on only once. They appears to be well made and are very comfortable. I would say, if you like them, just buy

    Waterproof Membrane

The boot has a waterproof membrane. Which membrane is it? How breathable is the membrane? Is the membrane GORTEX? What is the RET value?

I purchased the 2866 Tan Grain Alpine Lace-to-toe Boot

What polish is recommended for this boot. You do not seem to have a "TAN" polish. I am looking for the recommended Speed Polish and Cream Polish.
    Asked by: Anonymous
We recommend walnut polish. Our walnut polish can accommodate cognac and tan colors. -AE Consumer Care Dept.

    Are these boots waterproof?

Given that the sole of this boot is engineered to perform on wet ice, is it ok to wear these boots in snow and are they waterproof?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, they live up to the claim of being waterproof. While wearing them, I’ve shoveled snow before work, cleared the car of snow after work, and walked through slushy sidewalks. I bought them in October; they’ve stayed waterproof through an Upstate New York winter, and the sole’s grip has consistently allowed me to walk confidently on slippery surfaces.

What is the material inside the boot? Is it just soft leather or a anti sweat material?

    Asked by: VZ
The inside is soft leather, superior to anti-sweat material which wears out quicker.
