Rated 2 out of 5 by Wet from Too Small to be Useful I purchased this with high hopes at my local AE in Washington, DC. I love the idea of this umbrella because it can be stored vertically in my rather small messenger bag. Unfortunately, the umbrella is simply too small to be useful. Even in a very light rain both of my arms were soaked, and even some of my torso -- not to mention my feet and legs, but that is not as unreasonable. I cannot imagine what a heavy downpour would do to this poor thing. I could see this working fine for a very short walk if you really needed a small backup umbrella, but if your commute is much longer than a block I would suggest looking at a different model. Also it's worth noting that I am rather short for a man (5-7), so others would likely find this even less satisfactory. The build quality seems fine and I can't imagine it falling apart, but just be aware of its limitations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous from Fell Apart Afer 5-6 Uses For the price I paid at my local AE on Newbury Street Boston, I expected it to be at least as well made as my other umbrellas in that price range. After about three uses, one of the spoke caps came off and then a few more uses later, the strap stitching had started to fray and the end cap fell off. It may be that I managed to buy the "lemon," in the lot. Normally AE have extremely high standards. But this item, I found, was a waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tubby from Davek traveller flawed I am extremely disappointed with the Davek traveller. It has now broken in the same spot twice. Once on the original umbrella, and once on the replacement. This is after minimal use, and no abuse. Both times have been while I have been traveling, as this is why I bought the umbrella. The gauge of the pressed metal spars is too thin. The spring tension wire exerts too much force where it passes through the spar. Consequently the spar bends, then work hardens and breaks. I would not recommend anyone buy the Davek traveller. the postage payable to replace the umbrella is unsustainable, particularly considering the premium price paid. I hope davek reengineer this product.
