How to Match Your Belt to Your Shoes
Our Designer's Top 10 Belt & Shoe Combinations For Men
According to Mark McNeill, Allen Edmonds' Design Director, "If a belt does not complement the shoes, it doesn't matter how nice either one is, your look will appear awkward and inattentive." So we asked for his help matching belts with some of our most iconic shoe styles and some new fall shoe styles.
Strand & Manistee Belt: These are two iconic examples of Allen Edmonds quality and timeless style. The perfing on the cap-toe shoe is matched beautifully on the Manistee belt and complement each other in every detail.
Park Avenue & Wide Basic or Summit Ave Belt: I love this iconic shoe with the classic look of our ever popular Wide Basic belt. For something different it also looks great with our new Summit Ave belt which has a laser designed paisley pattern that looks great paired with the clean lines of the Park Avenue.
Dalton Boot & Hackett Ave Belt: This wingtip boot in walnut has perfing on the wing and upper that beautifully complements the central design and stitching of the Hackett Ave belt in walnut.
Cavanaugh & Poplar or Clay Ave Belt: The sleek profile of this loafer looks great with simple design of our Poplar belt. For another winning combination go with the stunning oxblood shade of this handsewn loafer with the stitching details of the belt in the same color and you have a very classic look.
Liverpool & Dearborn Belt: This modernized Chelsea boot in walnut looks unbeatable when combined with the clean lines of Dearborn dress belt. Together they’re sure to turn a few heads.
Exchange Place & Midland Ave Belt: In oxblood or black, the high shine and clean lines of the belt is beautifully mirrored in the shoe and together they form the perfect dress pairing.
