    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

    Classic Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Factory 2nd - Liverpool Chelsea Dress Boot is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This pair shouldn't have left the warehouse.. I knew I was taking a chance when I bought a pair of factory seconds. The first impression was good, I was happy with how it looked. However, closer inspection showed that the right side had major defects. First, the leather in the toe area seemed to be badly damaged (maybe accidentally sanded with low grit after it was finished?), and the touch-up was done to paint over the roughed out leather to cover the damage but it was very noticeable (both the look and feel was compromised). The size of damage was (from my memory since I already returned it as soon as I saw it) at least 2 inches in diameter which shouldn't be called "minor". Another issue was that on the same shoe (right), the tip of the toe was sanded to a point where it almost exposed the stitching, the shape was also noticeably different from the left. I was immediately concerned with the durability of this shoe since the stitching is so close to the edge. For me the appeal of AE (or any other decent shoes worth investing) was that it was goodyear welted but this structural damage concerned me about the repairability of this shoe. I would probably stay away from Factory seconds unless I can see the pair in person. $25 restocking fee makes this gamble even less appealing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A true Hit or Miss Buying a pair of Factory 2nd is like gambling, in my opinion: you either score big at great pricing (steep, steep discount) or you end up with a pair of weird expensive shoes (or eat up the $25 return fee). My boots arrived today, and they seemed perfect at first (Note: I did buy these in Black color in hope the defects won't be as obvious). However, as I tried them on and walked around indoor to grab a feel. I realized the left boot makes weird popping noise: the upper leather has too much room (the vamp part between toe and instep) and it creates an air pocket that produce annoying noises when I walk. Please note that the right boot is sleek, sexy and fits perfectly with no weird vamp structure. Overall, even at a steep discount, the defect appears to be unacceptable, as these boots should still be considered higher-end in quality. So as my title claims: buying factory 2nd is a hit or miss, gamble at your own risk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very minor cosmetic issues - Great Value As a student, these 2nds were a great value option. They fit true to size and are very comfortable. The leather is wearing in nicely so far. Although I advise against it, I've worn them in the snow and must say that the traction is adequate. There were no leather blemishes out of the box. The only issue I saw was the stitching around the elastic was not perfect, but still very secure. I've received many compliments on them already. Hard to believe they are 2nds! The silhouette is beautiful, especially considering they are goodyear welted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK for a factory 2nd but not stellar I had JUST bought a pair of Allen Edmonds Liverpool boots in walnut at full retail within a week. Then the factory 2nds sale with 20% off was announced. So, since I had not even worn the new boots yet, other than testing for fit, I decided to return them and go for two pairs of the factory 2nd Liverpool boots instead, both a black and walnut. Because that's two for the same money! After patiently waiting, they finally arrived. Unfortunately upon inspection, the walnut colored ones were not even close to the pair I had just returned. The leather had a big hard bump on top of the boot, very noticeable to me. The black pair was in pretty good shape overall and in hindsight I should have kept and could easily have fixed the minor imperfections, but then I circled back mentally to just buying the perfect "top shelf" version. So I returned both, and ate the $50 restocking charge which was agreeable. No doubt the factory 2nd sale can get you great savings, and from what I've read and watched on YouTube, often you can't tell the difference. However in my particular case, and maybe having the comparison right there between first rate and a factory 2nd, they just weren't worth the savings to me at that point in time. So I'm not saying they aren't a great value, but only that there is a difference... Unfortunately, now I'm waiting for the next sale...

Do factory seconds come with the same sole, or with a rubber sole?

    Asked by: CarneyK
They come with V-tread. Although I don't advise it, I've worn them in snowy streets and they don't slip.

I normally wear a 7 D, does this style run true to size? Also, as a “second”, does the defect show? Thanks....

Hello, Typically, we recommend trying the same size you usually wear and judging the fit based on how comfortable you feel in the shoes. Also, Factory seconds are shoes that are aesthetically damaged during the manufacturing process. You will see defects on the shoes. -AE Consumer Care Dept.
