STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

Factory 2nd - Park Avenue Cap-Toe Oxfords is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the hype! These are my first pair of AE shoes and they are such a good value I felt I had to write a review. The shoes are a great value and completely worth the hype! I bought the Park Ave. Cap-toe Oxford in Walnut. I went through AE Factory Seconds' and was amazed I could not find anything wrong with them - no blemishes, no scuff marks. The shoes have great leather, which is thick and strong but also soft and flexible. I think they will last a long time and only need a few weeks to break in. Also, in the past, I've struggled to find shoes that fit me properly. But because AE has so many variations of sizes and widths, it allowed me the flexibility to order a perfect-fitting pair of shoes. Finally, since AE can recraft their shoes, it's like getting a second (or third) pair of shoes for the price of recrafting. Great overall value!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in Allen Edmonds Durability After years of buying inexpensive dress shoes, I decided to take the plunge and buy a pair of Allen Edmonds because of their exceptional reputation and style. I bought my new shoes October 2019; it’s now July 2020 and the shoes have completely disintegrated. The soles fell off at a client meeting yesterday, to my chagrin. After just a couple months, they already showed significant wear, so I knew it was just a matter of time before they were going to bite the dust. When I bought these shoes I expected to have them for years, figuring that one day I would send them for re-crafting. But I never imagined they’d arrive at that point after just 9 months. Granted, I wear them a lot, but that’s what professionals do — they wear dress shoes a lot. I’ve had Cole Haan, Alfani, Sperry and even Aldo shoes last longer than this and I didn’t wear those any differently. I don’t know if I want to re craft them or just bail on the Allen Edmonds brand all together and try my luck elsewhere.

Is the Park Avenue last equivalent to a The Yorktown shoes if not can you tell me which shoes are equivalent to the Yorktown and Leiden shoes?

    Asked by: H
The Park Avenue is made on the 65 Last; the Yorktown and Leiden on the 1943 Last. These lasts have different characteristics that can affect the fit. If you would like to view styles made on the 1943 last follow this link: https://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/mens-shoes/all-shoes/?prefn1=shoeLasts&prefv1=Welted%20Last%201943 Ultimately, you must try on the shoes to ensure a proper fit. We apologize we are unable to compare or recommend styles via this channel as the fit is highly dependent on the contours of each person's feet and their own fit preferences. To what extent are the shoes considered a defect?

I am interested in purchasing a factory second shoe so long as the defect doesn't make my feet to be the center of attention. I was wondering what types of damages/defects a factory second typically has? Is it usually the type of defect/damage not noticeable unless pointed out, like a scuff on the inside of the show or a slight difference of color on each of the pair? Also, is the quality and construction the same as a normal Allen Edmond's shoe? Thank you
    Asked by: egami
Hello. I bought three pairs of Factory Seconds recently. One of my Dalton boots had a misaligned welt stitching and that was it for that pair. My Leeds black cordovan shoes arrived again with a misaligned welt stitching and a dent/nick on the tip of one of the shoes. As I wear my shoes I will eventually have their soles replaced and the stitching defect will be gone. As to the dent/nick this will persist but a good mirror shine should make this unnoticeable. The last pair had no structural issues and probably the color (burgundy) was a little bit off. Hope this helps. Regards

What color suit/slacks do you wear with Walnut?

I've worn Allen Edmonds for 30 years but usually wear very traditional colors like black and burgundy/oxblood/merlot. I love the look of Walnut but am unsure what color slacks to wear them with. What are your recommendations?
    Asked by: Woody
A walnut park ave is a more casual shoe compared to the other browns. Thus, something like tapered chinos in blue, brown, or light gray are appropriate. It's my favorite shoe with Denim. Corduroy's are also appropriate.

Does this shoe have good arch support?

Hi I have weak arches as a result of planters fasciitis. Will this shoe give me good arch support. If not please recommend another shoe. Do not refer me to a store, because where I live there isn't one near buy. Kindly provide me with some useful help.
    Asked by: MOHAMMED
This style features standard arch support with our traditional leather foot bed, where we apply a layer of shock-absorbent cork between the insole and the outsole of our shoes that allows the sole to form an imprint in the cork over time. The resulting imprint acts as a comfortable cradle for your whole foot and is totally unique to your foot shape. It is part of the reason our shoes are so comfortable. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
