  • Care

We believe a great pair of shoes or boots is always a solid long-term investment. To keep your favorite footwear in top form for years or even decades to comes, use our 4 Step Shoe Care Process and these essential products.

    1. Clean

Start by applying Saddle Soap with a Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to remove stains and dirt from the uppers and bring up the leather's natural oils.

    2. Polish

Next, use a Horsehair Dauber to treat your footwear with Cream Polish which renews the color and luster of leather. Any time you want to achieve a truly glossy, high shine, you should instead apply Carnauba Wax Polish.

    3. Dress

Restore the color and surface of the leather on the heels and soles using Heel Dressing.

    4. Protect

Leather Lotion keeps uppers soft, supple and hydrated while a Horsehair Shine Brush is perfect for buffing your shoes to the desired shine. As a last step, spray on Water Protector to guard against harmful moisture and spills and use a Leather Dopp Kit to keep all your care products organized.

Is the Park Avenue last equivalent to a The Yorktown shoes if not can you tell me which shoes are equivalent to the Yorktown and Leiden shoes?

    Asked by: H
The Park Avenue is made on the 65 Last; the Yorktown and Leiden on the 1943 Last. These lasts have different characteristics that can affect the fit. If you would like to view styles made on the 1943 last follow this link: https://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/mens-shoes/all-shoes/?prefn1=shoeLasts&prefv1=Welted%20Last%201943 Ultimately, you must try on the shoes to ensure a proper fit. We apologize we are unable to compare or recommend styles via this channel as the fit is highly dependent on the contours of each person's feet and their own fit preferences. To what extent are the shoes considered a defect?

I am interested in purchasing a factory second shoe so long as the defect doesn't make my feet to be the center of attention. I was wondering what types of damages/defects a factory second typically has? Is it usually the type of defect/damage not noticeable unless pointed out, like a scuff on the inside of the show or a slight difference of color on each of the pair? Also, is the quality and construction the same as a normal Allen Edmond's shoe? Thank you
    Asked by: egami
Hello. I bought three pairs of Factory Seconds recently. One of my Dalton boots had a misaligned welt stitching and that was it for that pair. My Leeds black cordovan shoes arrived again with a misaligned welt stitching and a dent/nick on the tip of one of the shoes. As I wear my shoes I will eventually have their soles replaced and the stitching defect will be gone. As to the dent/nick this will persist but a good mirror shine should make this unnoticeable. The last pair had no structural issues and probably the color (burgundy) was a little bit off. Hope this helps. Regards

What color suit/slacks do you wear with Walnut?

I've worn Allen Edmonds for 30 years but usually wear very traditional colors like black and burgundy/oxblood/merlot. I love the look of Walnut but am unsure what color slacks to wear them with. What are your recommendations?
    Asked by: Woody
A walnut park ave is a more casual shoe compared to the other browns. Thus, something like tapered chinos in blue, brown, or light gray are appropriate. It's my favorite shoe with Denim. Corduroy's are also appropriate.

Does this shoe have good arch support?

Hi I have weak arches as a result of planters fasciitis. Will this shoe give me good arch support. If not please recommend another shoe. Do not refer me to a store, because where I live there isn't one near buy. Kindly provide me with some useful help.
    Asked by: MOHAMMED
This style features standard arch support with our traditional leather foot bed, where we apply a layer of shock-absorbent cork between the insole and the outsole of our shoes that allows the sole to form an imprint in the cork over time. The resulting imprint acts as a comfortable cradle for your whole foot and is totally unique to your foot shape. It is part of the reason our shoes are so comfortable. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
