    Care Instructions

Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its unique properties. Brush and wipe regularly and apply cream occasionally to protect the leather and maintain its rich color.

    Regular Maintenance:

Regularly, brush the leather with our Horsehair Shine Brush or wipe with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth.

To Protect and Restore Color, Follow These Steps:

STEP 1: Wipe your shoe down with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

STEP 2: Using your Horsehair Dauber, apply a small amount of Cordovan cream in a circular motion.

STEP 3: While the cream is still slightly wet, take our Horsehair Shine Brush and brush back and forth, heating the cream and leather. This allows the natural oils to move to the surface to bring out the leather's natural shine.

STEP 4: Next, use the soft side of our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to buff the shoe until the surface is no longer tacky. Often, some excess cream will transfer onto the cloth, which is normal.

STEP 5: Take our Heel Dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heel and sole.

    Classic Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Factory 2nd - Randolph Shell Cordovan Penny Loafers is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiny flaw = big savings Shell Cordovan is the finest leather and these seconds offer great value. I have over 20 pair of fine shoes, but I must wear fine shoes for my job. Some Italian shoes were $2,000. these are not quite up to that quality in terms of stitching, but the leather is BETTER, at a quarter of the price! I am thrilled at the value and long lasting quality, just not the delicate attention of the $2-3K shoes I enjoy (but regret paying for).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great buy I bought my first pair of cordovan leather shoes as a second. The right shoe was slightly larger than the left buy if I wanted perfect I should have bought 1st quality. I was easily able to make allowances and am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cordovan is amazing These shoes need a few weeks to break in, buy true to size or 1/2 smaller- they stretch out fast. Cordovan is made from the hide taken from the butt cheeks of a horse. They will last for 20+ years with regular resole.

What makes it a factory second?

    Asked by: Anonymous
It takes 212 unique steps and 100 pairs of hands to make an Allen Edmonds shoe. When you add in our great attention to detail and the high quality-control standards we maintain, the result is a Factory Second. These blemished shoes have cosmetic defects such as a stain, nick in the sole or slightly askew sewing.
