STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

    Factory 2nd - Strand Cap-Toe Oxfords is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these Strands! These are beautiful shoes! If they are factory seconds, I can't tell why. I have my routine when buying AE Shoes. I immediately apply Saphir Renovateur, followed by Saphir Médaille d'Or Pommadier Cream, then Saphir Medaille d’Or Pate De Luxe. For walnut, I use Cognac, but you can go lighter or darker on the color. With the Strand styling and the Saphir products, these shoes look absolutely awesome! I constantly receive compliments on these shoes. The price point was perfect and the shoes are great. I love the Strand styling, so I bought them in Navy blue also. They too are absolutely gorgeous.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price Bought these Strand 2nds when they were on sale. The leather quality was ok not great and the dye/color wasn't consistent or even. But they are 2nds so I expected them to be let off. They still look great and and for the price you cant beat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking shoes I purchased these 2nds with two slight scratches that buffed right off after a few times of buffing and polishing. I only have one slight concern with my shoes. They were a bit stiff/hard when I got them. They are breaking in with every day of use. Here is where the slight concern comes into play, the shoes have indeed stretched quite a bit and are slipping in the heel area. I can remedy this with an extra liner sock. Which I don't care for, so my next option is to add leather heel grips liner cushions inserts which should make them fit perfectly. Feet are slightly uneven. Left foot is slightly longer than my right. Have always worn size 10 in all my shoes. My Strands are 10D. I love the shoes despite the slight stretch in them.

Why is this shoe a factory second? Why are you not make shoes and belts in Burgundy or Merlot anymore? Why are you not doing weave dress shoes?

The Strand Cap-Toe Oxfords on sale are indicated as Factory 2nds. What’s wrong with it? In the category of complaints :) Why aren’t you doing shoes in burgundy or merlot anymore? And why are they more expensive if I see them? Don’t say it is because of demand, because if it was you’d produce more of them than you are. Also, what happened to weave shoes and belts? Is there anywhere they can be found? My black and walnut weave shoes are wearing out but my belts need to match something.

    Issues with the width

I've never bought AE shoes before but I am considering buying a pair. Would the width be transferred to all other AE shoes? Would you recommend going to an AE store to determine proper size and width or would any shoe store would suffice? Thanks.
    Asked by: Rocha83
I would go to the nearest AE store or supplier and try them on. This way you can get a correct size. All shoe manufacturers are slightly different in the way they fit. Not every foot is the same.

is there a big difference from width D to E?

    Asked by: Jhet02
Thank you for reaching out to us. Each width increases by approximately three-sixteenths of an inch in total girth. We hope this is helpful!
