Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Factory 2nd - Voyager Walking Shoe is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value for a walking shoe I really did not know what to expect for comfort with this shoe style. The shoe is better than anticipated and gets better every time I wear them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality The rubber sole started seperating from the subsole after wearing them twice. This was very unexpected as AE shoues are notoriously of great quality. They must have had a bad batch that slipped through with an adhesive issue. I returned them without issue and will try another Allen Edmonds shoe when I can find one in my price range.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I have been a loyal Allen Edmonds customer since 1991. This will be the last pair. The sole wasn't even attached...and they wouldn't exchange them for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not really a factory second, more like a total reject. Shoe felt great and was very comfortable. If the color had been okay, this rating would have been all fives, as I think very highly of Allen Edmonds shoes. The issue is with what they are calling a factory second. The toe and the back of the heal was black, but the rest of the shoe was mostly dull and had a grayish look to it. Needless to say, the shoes looked awful and the way they stood out was such an obvious defect that I do not understand how anyone could think that it would be a good idea to see them that way. To think that someone would find this obvious flaw acceptable when wearing shoes that are supposed to represent the level of quality that AE is was unfathomable. To basically be in a place where someone would look at a person wearing these shoes and ask them, "what happened to your shoes" makes no sense, especially if it leaves that person or others believing that this is what you get when you buy AE shoes. Allowing a pair of shoes to leave your facility, that looked this bad (and I do not mean a little gray in a spot but rather most of the shoe on both shoes) suggests that AE is okay with having people think of poor quality (as not everyone will ask if it is a factory second and would simply think this is the level of quality they could expect) is peculiar. With this in mind, I suggest the strategy behind "factory seconds" be re-considered. The policy should be that if the "flaw" is so obvious that it would be what people would focus on rather than the shoe itself. it would not be sold under any circumstances. To do anything less than that makes potential buyers think more about price than value and if this is acceptable then you may as well see yourself in the same market as the average $80 to $100 pair of shoe. AEs do cost more, but are an investment that pays off well beyond when those others are worn out and gone. This only holds true, if AE is willing to remember that even in its factory seconds.

    Voyager walking shoe...price?

The voyager walking shoe is listed twice in factory seconds...in black, blue and brown for $199 and in brown for $157. What is the differnce? In looking at the review input on sizing, I wonder if my usual 9D would be an appropriate fit...I have 9Ds in the Badlans Wilberts ThANKS
    Asked by: Marv43
Based on my experience, it should be "somewhat black, blue and brown" (as the "black" ones I received were highly discolored and were just awful looking. The "brown" for $157 is probably separated to reflect the difference in prince for some that are more "flawed" than the others. If you think you can fix them or live with people asking, "what is wrong with your shoes", then feel free roll the dice.

Can I put an orthotic in this shoe?

    Asked by: Golfer13
I was not able to put my orthotic into the shoe comfortably but I found I really did not need the Orthotic. The shoe is really comfortable and I have arthurites' in my feet.

I have comfortably worn the Polo saddle for many years and recraftings; will these have a similar fit as I am unsure of the last? Thank you.

    Asked by: Erin’s Hill
We recommend contacting customer service directly at 877.817.7615 with the style numbers to see if we have it in our archives. In any case, however, it is difficult to recommend a size through this channel and guarantee a proper fit because each style can fit differently based on the contours of your feet. Typically, we recommend trying the same size you usually wear and judge the fit based on how comfortable you feel in the shoes.   It is vitally important to visit an Allen Edmonds retail store or retail partner for a professional fitting to increase your chances of being fit correctly for each last and style. However, keep in mind that products purchased on AllenEdmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip.  Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoes in returnable condition.
