  • Care

We believe a great pair of shoes or boots is always a solid long-term investment. To keep your favorite footwear in top form for years or even decades to comes, use our 4 Step Shoe Care Process and these essential products.

    1. Clean

Start by applying Saddle Soap with a Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to remove stains and dirt from the uppers and bring up the leather's natural oils.

    2. Polish

Next, use a Horsehair Dauber to treat your footwear with Cream Polish which renews the color and luster of leather. Any time you want to achieve a truly glossy, high shine, you should instead apply Carnauba Wax Polish.

    3. Dress

Restore the color and surface of the leather on the heels and soles using Heel Dressing.

    4. Protect

Leather Lotion keeps uppers soft, supple and hydrated while a Horsehair Shine Brush is perfect for buffing your shoes to the desired shine. As a last step, spray on Water Protector to guard against harmful moisture and spills and use a Leather Dopp Kit to keep all your care products organized.

Wilbert Comfort Shoe is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 583.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST pair of shoes I've ever owned!! I own 6 pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes. They all fit extremely well but the Wilbert stands out as the very best. Super comfortable even when I was in Rome, walking for miles on those cobblestone streets. The fit is superb. My only wish is that they made the Wilbert in a black as well. David San Gabriel, CA

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Owned a pair for decades... I want to reinforce the other positive reviews for this shoe and for Allen Edmonds in general. I have probably eight pairs of AE shoes, some purchased at least 30 years ago. A few I've had refurbished by AE...amazing how good they are when they come back! But back to the Wilberts....without a doubt, the most comfortable, best fitting (and I'm not an easy fit) shoe of them all. These shoes seem expensive but you'll go through a thousand dollars worth of Rockports or Timberlands before you wear out a cared-for $395 pair of the traditional leather AE shoes. (I can't speak for the newer styles as I don't own any.) I honestly can't imagine buying any other traditional leather shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Feet! I have these same shoes I have worn over the past 6 years in brown and now I have them in black. I am very pleased with the comfort and quality. Since the pandemic my return to work attire has become increasingly casual and these have become my go to shoes that I can dress up or down as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe This is my second pair. First lasted 10 or so years. They seem to get better as I wear them. Good shoe for casual business and travel as they are comfortable and durable on long urban walks.

How do I know lace length of my shoes ?

I know it goes by # of eyelets, but I want to get replacements (custom Ticked laces) & dont know if 33" laces will work for some of my pairs of AE.
    Asked by: TEX4S
The Wilbert style typically includes a pair of 33" laces. If you order laces from our website, you will see length suggestion based on the eyelet number when selecting the laces. If you need to find out the exact length you already have on your shoes to get custom laces, we suggest removing the laces from the shoes and measuring them. If you have other questions feel free to contact us again!

    Still made in USA?

I noticed that the website states these are now "imported". Does this mean the Wilbert is not made in the USA anymore?
    Asked by: AB
The last two pairs I bought were USA made. This was in October 2019.

Is this the replacement for the AE Ashton?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Not really. The Ashton has a removable insole and was on the 678 last, not the 511. The leathers are also quite different between the two styles.
