Wear - La Scala Italian Oxford

Hello, does anyone know how the La Scala Italian Oxford wears after a number of wearings? Do the shoes have that cracked old look?
    Asked by: Side Stepper 2
Patent leather shoes will flex and crease with normal wear just like any other leather shoe. Feel free to contact us again if you have additional questions!

    Sizing

Is this shoe not made in the normal offering of widths? What would you recommend for a 12B?
    Asked by: Bw1988
At Allen Edmonds, we believe the right fit is vitally important. We recommend a professional fitting by an Allen Edmonds associate at your nearest retail location or an authorized Allen Edmonds dealer. Find a store near you. https://www.allenedmonds.com/stores Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Is the shoe made from genuine patent leather or fron a synthetic material?

The question was asked before, but not satisfactorily answered. Specifically, I'd like to know if the "patent" leather used to make the shoe is a synthetic, or if it is made from genuine leather that has received various coatings to achieve the glossy finish.
    Asked by: Steverino
Allen Edmonds shoes, including this style, are made using real animal hides, we do not use synthetic leathers. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Bologna Flex Construction

What is Bologna flex construction? Does that mean its welted or cemented with glue? Thank you.
    Asked by: Dillon
The Bologna Flex construction does not feature a welt. The upper is sewn directly to the sole. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Which last and leather

Which last is the La Scala built on? And is they patent leather made from genuine leather that is coated or is it one of the "fake" layers that is basically plastic?
    Asked by: Anonymous
The La Scala is made using Patent Leather and constructed using the Bologna construction in Italy, so it is not built on our traditional lasts. It's a very different type of construction than our welted styles. It is vitally important to visit an Allen Edmonds retail store or retail partner for a professional fitting to increase your chances of finding a proper fit. If that's not possible, typically we recommend trying the same size you usually wear and judge the fit based on how comfortable you feel in the shoes. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Will a cobbler be able to resole this shoe?

I see that the shoe is not recraftable by AE. Will it be feasible for a non-AE cobbler to resole the shoe? Or is the construction such that it will have to be thrown out once the sole wears out?
    Asked by: Alexander
That may be a question for your cobbler as it depends on their familiarity with the Italian Bologna construction and willingness to work on the shoes. Keep in mind, frequency and commute lengths will certainly affect the life of the shoe. This type of style is mostly intended for special occasions. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Are these recraftable?

    Asked by: Dbosecpa
Due to the construction methods used, this style is not eligible for Recrafting. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    La

I saw two more Italian made Plain Toe Blucher styles the other day at the store in Oak Brook, IL. I believe the Corscico. I cannot find any information on the site for them. Will there be an entire line of Italian made shoes from AE? I do like a Blake constructed shoe from time to time. Or do you call it Bologna construction?
    Asked by: Shoe nut
The Corsico will be available soon. You can see the rest of the Italian Collection by typing "italian" on our search bar. Another two new styles are the La Sacala and the Ambrosio. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
