    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Protect your shoes from dirt, rain and snow and enhance the shine and color with our Speed Polish.

STEP 4: Apply our Leather Lotion to protect the heels and edges of your shoes.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto leather with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.
    Fit

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dissapointing I wanted to like these boots. They are sleek and attractive without being too obnoxiously tactical. They fit well and required no break-in. I wanted to say that I'd still be happy with them since I purchased these on sale, but even at that sale price, I would not recommend them. As I said, they fit well. However the lining is slippery. Very slippery. While wearing them, my feet slip around a bit such that I never fully feel planted on the ground. It's a very uneasy feeling I would never expect in a boot, and after I take them off, I feel like the ground is still moving beneath me for a short while. Cotton, wool, dress, sport, the socks don't make a difference here. I'm not a fan of the lace hook design. The design is such that it looks like it would keep the laces from popping out, but what it really does is make the laces hard to get in. So lacing requires additional focus that I feel is unnecessary in the this day and age. The worst thing about these boots is that the tongue on the left boot bunches is such a way that it creates what feels like the spine of a knife digging into my ankle. I cannot feel anything hard in the leather or the inside of the shoe, but once they are laced, it's painful. To avoid this, I have to re-orient the tongue into a position it does not naturally fall into. It needs attention throughout the day. I find now that when I'm looking for a boot, I look past these for something else, which is sad. I'm very happy with my small but growing collection of Allen Edmonds dress shoes. I'm just very disappointed that the same attention put into the dress shoes did not go into making these boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Was Skeptical About This Boot At First - Glad I Stuck With It I didn't wear large boots like this often before, with NYC tax spent almost $400 on them and didn't know if I really liked the look at first (was so close to returning them). But I'm super super glad I stuck with these even through a painful break in process. Top of both my big toes hurt pretty bad (where the boot creases) during this but as long as you work the leather a bunch it will soften out. Got myself a bunch of pants that match A+ with these boots and am really happy with the look. Very stable wide footprint and just make you feel rock solid/top of your game in any situation/room. Leather scuffs and scratches but there's nothing you can do to stop that on any shoe. They're boots... I've worn these for 3 months so it's not a super long term review but will continue to love them. I felt it ran a little large but I have a narrower foot. I wear a size 10 Van's and bought a 9.5 in this boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome boot but version 2.0 could use small insulation I like this boot very much. Have had it since the August coupon sale. Only way to improve it would be to add a small amount of insulation. Thinsulate would change the leather look so that might not want you want. It would be nice to have 200g of insulation because your foot gets cold when the boot gets wet even though you have a dry foot, the cold still permeates they boot. A flannel or wool or something inside the boot would be a good addition. Great boot. I have a pair of Red Wings top work boot which is insulated and waterproofed. This boot is just as comfortable but is nicer to wear with jeans or dress clothes.

    2.0?

Can you briefly explain the difference between the new Ranger and the older one? From the pictures it looks like the new one is all leather while the old one had some areas of mesh fabric. Is that it or are there other changes.
