    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Patton Cap-Toe Boot with Dainite Rubber Sole is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patton Cap Toe Boot - Great, Roomy Boot This is yet another example of supreme quality from Allen Edmonds, and one cool looking boot. I bought two pair: Charcoal and Tan (waterproof). This is actually a fairly roomy boot for those with an "E" width foot. I chose to wear a thicker, athletic weight sock with them in my width "E", but I could have been fine in a "D" width with a thinner, business style sock, or slightly less-thick athletic sock. In fact, I almost regret buying the "E" width, so if you have a chance to try them on in an Allen Edmonds store, try both the "D" and the "E" width if you have traditionally been an "E"...the "D" may work well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Service for a Subpar Product I have been a loyal (almost rabid) Allen Edmonds customer. I am disgusted with AE. The first Pattons I received had numerous defects: undersize midsole resulting in a noticeable gap, discolorations, and areas that the stitching was unraveling and the leather separating. I am not the most exacting when it comes to inspecting shoes and my demands are not unreasonable but with over 80 pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes (not counting bags and accessories) there are minimum expectations. These boots did not meet them, I highlighted my issues to the salesperson and sent them back for another pair. The second pair arrived but still had significant discolorations and even a wider midsole gap. I once again pointed out the deficiencies to the salesperson who agreed to send them back. I later received a call from the store, apparently the regional manager wasn't pleased with sending the shoes back and getting me a pair that were correctly made. It's time for me to find a different brand and spend my money elsewhere. Way to lose a loyal customer (most valuable at the local brick and mortar store).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a Normandy type of boot in my size I ordered the Patton because I really wanted a cap toe boot in a narrow width. I love the Normandy so much that I purchased that boot in a D width. Even with inserts that style felt sloppy. Finally the Patton comes out in a B width. I ordered it in my HM size. Shoe was supposed to be made by October 30th. That day passed and I received an email from my Sales Associate with an apology and an update. My shoe did not pass QC and my shoe was put back into production. AE recognized a flaw and communicated the issue and resolution. I admit it was difficult looking at my shoe on the Shoebank website while waiting for my shoe to be made again. The shoe arrived and I took it out of the box to reveal a very well made pair of boots. The shaft height is shorter than a Normandy or HIggins Mill but maybe a bit higher than a Chukka. As for break in period, do you call it a break in period if it is measured in minutes? If you have passed on other AE boots based on pressure points higher up the shaft, this is the boot for you. Also there are limited edition colors and materials that knock it out of the park.

    Kudu leather

Who is the leather maker of this kudu leather? Is it Kudu calf from Horween or Kudu leather? Thanks
    Asked by: Soe
Kudu leather is the hide from an African-native species of Antelope named Kudu. We source kudu leather from different tanneries. Kudu leather is not from Horween tannery. -AE Consumer Care Dept.

    Polish & Care?

Do you really use BLACK cream & speed polish on gray Patton’s as indicated in your care guide. Won’t that darken them?
    Asked by: MikeGDE
We would recommend neutral cream or speed polish for your Grey Patton Cap-Toe Boot with Dainite Rubber Sole.

More of a statement, but please release this in more colors! And, more sole options! I would love this in a dark green, blue, or red with a commando sole, for example. Please, this is a winner! Expand the options! A cap toe option with some mild brogueing would also be welcome. Thank you for listening.

Patton Cap-Toe Boot: Country of manufacture?; 2) Grey vs "Grey-Brown"

    1) I am awaiting "two" pairs of this Patton Cap-toe boot, and have major anxiety now reading that these may be made in the Dominican Republic??? NOTHING good or well made comes from the Dominican Republic. With the little American flag in the upper left of the page, I thought these boots are made in Wisconsin "USA" like all/most Allen Edmonds. Please confirm, especially after reading about poor quality and mistakes. 2) One person asked if the "Grey" boot might in fact be "Grey-Brown", and you confirmed they are "Grey Brown", yet in your mailer for the sale, they are described as "Charcoal" which is NOT Grey-Brown. I may need to return these if in fact they are not "Charcoal". Please reconfirm - both of these issues are disconcerting, especially "quality" Allen Edmonds shoes being made in the Dominican Republic..."why"?

    Comparison with Hearst

If this is kudu leather, is Hearst on Chromexcel? Any plans to release this with speed hooks like Hearst and in that leather?
    Asked by: Prakash
Hello, Thank you for your inquiry! The Hearst is not made with Chromexcel leather. At this time, we do not have plans to release the Patton boot with speed hooks. -AE Consumser Care Dept.
